These unwanted pets end up in shelters or left to stray.ï¿½ï¿½Either way, their future looks awful bleak.

ï¿½ï¿½'I was born today, one of 10.ï¿½My daddy was very famous.ï¿½I have lots of half brothers and sisters.ï¿½My mother is very famous.ï¿½Since she got famous, she has only had puppies.ï¿½No more loving hands, no more fun trips...just puppies.ï¿½She is always sad when they leave her.
ï¿½ï¿½'I left home today.ï¿½I didn't want to go, so I hid behind my mama and three littermates that were left.ï¿½I didn't like you.ï¿½But one day, they said I would be famous.ï¿½I wonder, is famous the same as fun and good times?ï¿½So you picked me up and carried me away, even though you were concerned about me hiding from you.ï¿½I don't think you like me.
ï¿½ï¿½'My new home is far away.ï¿½I am scared and afraid.ï¿½My heart says be brave, my ancestors were.ï¿½Did they go to homes like mine?ï¿½I'm hungry because I can't eat too much because it will be bad for my bones.ï¿½I can't bite or snap when the children are mean to me.ï¿½I just run and play and pretend that I am in a big green field with butterflys, robins, and frogs.ï¿½I can't understand why they kick me.ï¿½I am quiet, but the man hits and says loud things.ï¿½The lady doesn't feed me good things like I had with my mother.ï¿½She just throws dry food on the ground, then goes away before I get too close for touching and petting.ï¿½Sometimes my food smells bad, but I eat it anyway.
ï¿½ï¿½'Today I had 10 puppies.ï¿½They are so wonderful and warm.ï¿½AM I FAMOUS NOW ?ï¿½I wish I could play with them, but they are so tiny.ï¿½I am so young and playful that it is hard to lay here in this hole under the house nursing my puppies.ï¿½They are crying now.ï¿½I am so hungry.ï¿½I scratch my fur and worry.ï¿½I wish someone would throw me some food.ï¿½I am also very thristy.ï¿½I now have eight.ï¿½Two got cold during the night and I couldn't make them warm again.&nsbpThey are gone.ï¿½We are all very weak.ï¿½Maybe if I take them all out on the porch, we can get some food.
ï¿½ï¿½'Today they took us away.&nsbpIt was too much trouble to feed us and so someone came to take us away.ï¿½Someone grabbed my puppies, they were crying and wimpering.ï¿½We were put in a truck with boxes in it.ï¿½Are my babies FAMOUS NOW ? ï¿½I hope so, because I will miss them.ï¿½They are gone.
ï¿½ï¿½'The place smelled of urine, fear and sickness.ï¿½Why was I here??ï¿½I was beautiful like my ancestors.ï¿½Now I am hungry, dirty, in pain, and unwanted.ï¿½Maybe the worse is unwanted.ï¿½No one came though I tried to be good.ï¿½Today someone came.ï¿½They put a rope on my neck and led me to a room that was very clean and had a shiny table.ï¿½They put me on the table.&nsbpSomeone held me and hugged me.ï¿½It felt so good!!! ï¿½Then I felt tired and laid over the last one who cared.ï¿½ I AM FAMOUS NOW.
