Where can I find a plan for...? |
Heartbreak Kid, a character who frequents Rec.Woodworking, used to have a sig that said his "footprints are in sawdust not printers ink", his way of saying that his knowlege is OJT (on the job training). I worked my way through school in the printing trades and I dare say that while I've left some footprints in sawdust, my shop is covered with lots of inky fingerprints. I love searching through books to find a new idea or process. For my own benefit and yours, I'm compiling a catalog of the contents of as many woodworking project books and magazines as I have access to. If you, the reader, would like to contribute to this effort, so much the better. I ask that you supply a reference, a short book review, and a complete list of the contents of the book. Use descriptive titles for the projects and not necessarily the author's. I don't have the luxury of including the book's illustrations in this catalog. The author may have used the title "bedside table" where something like "two-drawer bedside table with straight legs" would serve our purpose better. Any references, from jewelry boxes to garden structures, will be happily included. This is a labor of love and a work in progress. If you don't find anything of interest, (1) come back later and (2) ask. Cataloging the woodworking universe is an immense task and one I cannot hope to complete. The best I can do is share what I've found.
