The kids are growing and leaving home
Here I sit, once again alone.
I look out the window, up at a star
And silently wonder where you are.
You left so quickly, there was so much to do
I didn't tell you enough how much I love you.
The last gift you gave to me
Has become a member of the family
I see your face, I feel your love
Every time I hug the teddy that came from up above
You're not here, but I know you care
I see it in that teddy bear.

When I was but a child
My Grandpa could make me smile
When he got down on his knee
and played his walking bear for me
so I've always associated a teddy bear with love
and he'd fit on that page snug as a bug in a rug

My faith's a bit shaky
Can't seem to find my way.
My life's a bit depressing
(I'm not havin' a real good day.)
A hug would not cure me
But it would sure help me thru,
And if you send me one
Then I'll send one back to you!
-------------------------------------------------
As I sit in my chair,
And look around,
Not a friend in sight,
Which makes me frown.
I turn to a teddy bear,
And what do I do?
I give it a hug,
I wish it'd give me one too.
It'd make me feel special,
It'd make me feel worthwhile,
Cuz a bear hug will last you
For miles and miles.
So if I had one wish,
I'd wish it to be,
That you'd be ever so kind,
And donate a great big bear hug to me.
Hope that you send one over!
