Heritage Hill State Park is another great place to visit. It is located on the East side of Green Bay at 2640 South Webster. Return to the early days of Green Bay through the Belgian Farm , Traders Post, an Old School House and others.
The Neville Public Museum houses our heritage and also supplies us with art exhibits of all kinds. For example, in 1971, Otto Stiller donated his personal collection of photographs, many documenting Green Bay sports and social life. At a small park located just south of the museum along the west bank of the Fox River we have reserved a special place to honor our heroes .
My favorite park is Bay Beach Amusement Park . The rides there are still only 20 cents a ticket. You can ride a beautiful old fashioned Merry-Go-Round, a miniature train--complete with its own depot , pony rides, boats , fire engines, tilt-a-whirl, bumper cars, helicopters and more . The park is located on the Bay of Green Bay and it is a good place to go for family picnics and parties.
We have three libraries with computers with Internet access for all. If you can't find the book you want they will search other libraries and get it for you.

Our latest hospital opened in October, 2001 and is our first for profit hospital with state of the art equipment and a beautiful campass Aurora Bay Care Medical Center.
The Spirit of The Northwest is located on the courthouse lawn at city center. This statue was dedicated on June 10,1931, and includes three figures--Nicolas Perrot, an early trader and representative of the French Government; Claude Allouez, the first French missionary in Wisconsin; and an Indian guide.
Located on the West side of the Fox River is a large pile of coal --whose small pieces at the bottom have supplied the eyes for many a snow man. This is part of the F. Hurlbut & Company, which was established in 1870, as a wholesaler of coal, bricks, cement and tile.
We have two colleges in Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical Collegeand the University of Wisconsin .
In 1875, the administrator of the Green Bay Diocese, the Reverend Edward Daems, gave permission for the construction of a new church in the eastern-most portion of the city for a large group of German and Belgian families living there. This church was called St. Peter & Paul
The population of Green Bay is 207,269 more or less. In the summer our average temperature is 80.7 degrees and in the winter the average temperature is 6.9 degrees, this is an average for January. We get about 27 inches of rain per year and about 43 inches of snow. Our unemployment rate is only 2.6% We have 130.5 doctors for every hundred thousand people, 1.8 library books for every person, and the average commute time is only sixteen minutes. We are building another bridge over the Fox River which runs through the center of town. All in all a great place to live and raise a family.
Our major industries are our paper mills and shipping, we are part of the St. Lawrence sea way and have many ships dock along the Fox River.

much publicized Lambeau

Fort Howard Grade School
is one of the schools on the west side. There is a community center
located in the school with many excellent programs. A log cabin was
built on the site to further explain the early days.
We
have two great newspapers in Green Bay--our morning daily paper
The Green Bay News Chronicle
and our other morning daily paper The
Green Bay Press Gazette .
There
is a lot more to Green Bay, Wisconsin, than I could tell about in one Internet
site. The people who live here, the changing of the seasons, and
of course our beautiful sunsets
, to
name just a few.
