| Team History |
| The ratbastard tradition was born in the mid 90's when our founding members were fresh out of high school. It was when one of the founding members came back from the Gulf shortly after the war as a full-fledged and combat proven Navy SEAL. He and his friends called each-other ratbastards when one would "One up the other" in anything. The group at that time dabbled in paintball and stuck primarily to what most people in thier 20's do for fun. Drink, go out and gamble. During 1999, one of the other founding members stumbled onto spring loading guns that fired white plastic BB's. He showed it to the other members of the group who quickly took to the sport since they could shoot people, inflict pain and get away with it. When it was introduced to the rest of the state, those who had prior military experience or the role-players took it to the level it is today. And from those roots the ratbastard airsoft team was born. The image on the logo reflects the decadence from which the team came to be as well as the wrathful demeanor of the combat capabilities of the group. Todays ratbastards are lead by people who have served, people who understand modern military tactics. The challenge of those leaders is to apply military tactics to work effectively in a simulated environment similar to armed combat. However the SEAL ideology still remains. Train, for pain now means less bleeding during combat. To be resourceful, adapt and overcome, and to take the fight to the enemy and give him no quarter where none will be given in return. And above all, respect all, and fear none. |
