In the year 2000, three Tokyopop soundtracks were released. Final Fantasy IX, Parasite Eve 2, and Tekken Tag Tournament. I was at Electronics Boutique buying Breath of Fire IV when I noticed a small stand with a couple of cd's in it so I decided to check it out, the first one that caught my eye was Tekken Tag Tournament, I picked it up and decided to buy it because I had played it in the arcade and also I really liked the Tekken 3 soundtrack so i thought it would sound about the same.

There are 33 tracks on the cd with 4 remixes. In the cover booklet it provides the inspiration behind each track, it's pretty nifty. There is not really much I can say about it except it's a lot of Techno, Uptempo stuff. It is very high sound quality and with 33 tracks how can you complain. The only thing I noticed while listining was that in almost every song there is some random synthy sort of chant going on. In track 09.Yoshimitsu there is a chant that says "No Eyes, No Teeth, No Body, etc.", it doesn't really make any sense to me but it still sounds pretty good.

My favorite song from the whole soundtrack is track 15. Xiaoyu , she is a character that looks like Chun Li but doesnt kick, she uses a lot of hand movements. Anyway, the quote that the artist gave it (Keiichi Okabe) was "In the past few years I have only been writing beat music, so I wanted to do a more melodic piece. However, is this music good for Tekken background music?" I think it is some of the greatest music i have ever heard, i really like disco sounding music.

I'm not saying you should run out and buy the cd but it's an okay soundtrack, about all you can expect to get in the US without importing ;].
