| LSK 979 - Originally registered - GAM 283 First registered 11th August 1949. LSK 979 is an age-related registration number, the Vehicles original GAM 283 having presumably been sold off by a previous owner. The above picture was first emailed to Tim Webb, Secretary of the Series One Club. He forwarded it to me, as he thought I might be interested. From the picture it looked complete and as it wasnt that far away, it had to be worth checking out. It turned out to far worse than it looked. The chassis was pretty rotten particularly the cross members and at the front RHS, the inside had been chopped around and the engine was seized (late 2litre type fitted). On the positive side though most of the panels were fairly straight and it shares its 11th August birthday with my daughter Victoria! After some discussion with the lady whos garden it adorned (it had been there several years) she just wanted rid of it, a price was agreed and after extracting it from the lawn it was loaded onto a trailer taken just on the off chance you understand. It was stored for a couple of years whilst other projects were completed, then completely stripped down during 2004. The current plan is to restore axles and chassis during the early part of 2005.
