Later in life Heidnik decided to open up his own church which he became the Bishop of. Yet he continued his attempts on suicide. Then in 1978 he kidnapped and raped a retarded black woman, he was arrested and was jailed for four years.
A few years after his release in 1985 he was married, but his wife soon left him when he forced her to watch him have sex with a prostitute.
In 1986 he began his collection of slaves, He wanted to form a Harem of women. So he began to kidnapp women and keep them in his basement. Heidnik succeeded in kidnapping six women and keeping them in his basement of terror undetected for months. Finally one of the women escaped to police, and on March 25 1987 they searched his home and found a human arm in the refigerator and cooked human ribs. One of the women had died so Heidnik dismembered her corpse cooked it mixed it with dog food and fed her to the other captives. Another of his victims died when Heidnik tossed her into a pit of water and electrocuted her. He then disposed of her body in New Jersey.
Charged with two counts of murder and other crimes he was convicted on July 19 1988 and sentenced to die by lethal injection. He was executed on July 6 1999 in Pennsylvania.
