| Between 1962-1964 Albert Desalvo had strangled and killed 12 women. All of the women had been assaulted, raped and strangled with a pair of stockings. Desalvo like to pose his victims in crude ways and tie the stocking around their necks in a bow. DeSalvo was known to murder older women and after time he began to kill younger women. DeSalvo was arrested for rape after women had allowed him to enter their homes, in which time he would pretend to be from a modeling agency and would ask to take their measuremnet then he would rape them. For this reason they began calling him "The Measuring Man". He also pretended to be a repairman to obtain access to their homes. He would then rape them. Since DeSalvo always wore green during his attacks they also called him "The Green Man". When in prison for rape a fellow inmate advised his DeSalvo's lawyer and police that DeSalvo was the Boston Strangler. But he was never charged with any of the murders, instead he was given life in prison for the rapes he had commited. Albert Desalvo died in prison in November 1973 when stabbed by an inmate. |
