Years later in 1978 he murdered his first victim a hitchiker by the name of Steven Hicks. He invited Hicks over for drinks, when ready to leave Dahmer crushed his skull with a barbell, he then strangled, dismembered and buried him. In 1982 Jefrey Dahmer moved to West Allis Wisconsin. There he was arrested for indecent exposure and again in Sept. 1986 for masturbating in public.
In 1988 he moved into his own apartment in Milwaukee. He was arrested there after offering a boy money to pose for some nude pictures. He was charged with assault and sentenced to 1 yearin prison but was released after 10 months. When released he continued his rampage. Dahmer would take pictures and videotaped his work, he would also eat human flesh from his victims and keep body parts as trophies.
On May 27 1991 a young man was found wandering dazed, naked and bloody. When police questioned the young man he spoke no english and he was released back into the custody of Jeffrey Dahmer. Where later on he was killed. On July 22 1991 police would have another chance to catch Dahmer, when Tracy Edwards escaped Dahmer's home. Edwards led police to Dahmers apartment, where they found remains of 11 victims. In August he was charged with 15 counts of murder.
Although psychiatrist believed him to be a paraphiliac, and to have mental disorders he was found legally sane and sentenced to death in 1992. While awaiting execution on death row he was killed by an inmate.
