| Birth Name: Theodore Robert Cowell Birth Date: November 24 1946 As a child Ted Bundy was told that his grandmother was his mother and his mother was his sister, Later to discover the truth. Many believed that as a child Bundy was abused by a relative but there has never been any evidence supporting this. Bundy's father's identity remains a mystery to this day. The only thing we do know of him was that he was a military man. As a young child Bundy was known as a peeping tom and was also known to mutilate animals on occasion. When he was still very young his mother moved them to Tacoma WA. This is where he began his reign of terror in 1974. Bundy would wear casts and slings then would ask women for help with his car, directions or groceries. Once they would decide to help him, he would hit lure them to the door of the car then he would hit them over them head with a tire iron or any blunt object. Once in the car he would handcuff them and drive away, in his VW Bug. In the car he would beat them, rape them, then either strangle them or beat them to death. After this he would dispose of the body at a mountain site in WA, where he had already done so many times before. Ted Bundy had a degree in psychology and was studying law. He moved to Salt Lake City where his killing, then moved from Washington to Utah. After his killing spree in Utah where he was believed to have killed 7 women, he then moved on to Colorado where he killed 5 more (that we know of). Then in 1975 police had a break. A man driving a VW Bug had been pulled over for running a stop sign. When the officer noticed items pertaining to robberies he quickly arrested Bundy. He was brought in for a line up and at the other side of that mirror, watched a woman by the name of Carol DaRonch. She had claimed a man fitting Ted Bundy's description attacked her, but she had escaped. She pointed him out of the line up and Bundy was arrested and charged with the kidnapping of Carol DaRonch. Bundy was sentenced to 1-15 years. When Colorado police finally spoke to police investigators in Utah, they believed that Bundy was the man they had been looking for. Bundy was put on trial for the murder of one of his victims, Karen Campbell. During his trial Bundy escaped but was later apprehended and returned to his cell. While jailed Bundy planned his next escape. This time he escaped to Florida where he knew the law would seek the death penalty. In Tallahassee he murdered 2 women and injured 2 more in the Chi Omega Sorority House, late one night. A few days later he murdered his last and youngest victim, 12 year old Kimberley Leech. Ted Bundy was finally arrested in July 1976. Ironically he was pulled over for yet another traffic violation. Acting as his own attorney Bundy called his girlfriend as a witness, he asked her questions about their relationship and with a few questions and answers they were married in the courtroom. In October 1982 she gave birth to Ted Bundy's daughter. He defended himself at the trial, he lost. Bundy was Sentenced to die by the electric chair. On January 24 1989 he was executed in the state of Florida. Before his execution Bundy had admitted to killing over 30 women in 6 states. His last meal was, steak eggs hash browns and coffee.
