Define Black Metal. What it means to you and what you think its purpose is. Why it was originated and why you think it's lasted as long as it has. Why I am still living on earth and expressing my thoughts I think daily, the lifestyle I'd live if I lived in my head. Its purpose is an outlet of many beliefs. Many depend on the band.... there are many bands that I tend to find shallow who do nothing but preach about satan constantly *cough* dark funeral. There is more to life and black metal itself then anti christ and satan. Of course it depends on the person. I also see black metal as a very talented form of music. Ever wonder why mainsteam bands arent as talented as black metal bands and such... by the time anyone gets good at their instrument... most of them have found out what true metal is by then :). It was originated because obviously it was needed and the music that was out before it was ...boring, plain, effortless, and simply not the way many felt. And it has lasted as long as it has... because it has much meaning and many agree with it... It will never die. Its the world everyone wishes they existed in > : ) From: ??��????? Followers of black metal all over the world are themselves elite. There is no other form of music that can unite a group of people more than black metal. Sent: 2/15/2002 7:00 AM (I am Queen Amidala) by perfect i meant...no other music or type of music as affected me like it. i dont know what exactly you all listen to, but beautiful melodies from keyboards and guitars dont sound better to me than anything.....there is just no comparrison to anything else....to me anyway. i'm not a big death metal fan, and i always liked things that stood out. for some reason.....black metal does stand out among all "genres" of metal. you have to agree with me on that. i'm not a musician myself, but i do listen to it, and i would rather raise my baby girl on black metal than any other kind of music in the world. (by the way, my baby girl should be born around May 17, 2002) hehehe.....so long story short.....its my opinion what black metal means to me, just thought i'd let you all know...i mean, thats why its a message board..... Black metal to me is raw hate, powered by the will of the dark 1/2 inside of you. No one person really like this world and if you do you hit the lottery and are rich ect, But black metal is a raw force in all of the metal gender, depending on the band it can be dark n slow or fast and still dark :> But it will always be the one thing that makes you skin tingle when you hear it. i have seen death metal bands and thrash n power n black live n by far black is the best, Its all the hate in the pit, hate for the world, and hate for everything you can't stop or want to stop, all comes out at one time, its enjoyable for me. | One day I was looking at the Empire's website and saw this particular thread on their message board. I thought it was try-hard elitism at it's finest. Here is just the first half of it. Some of the members have their name in ASCII font that geocities won't support, so their "dark and spooky" names are written in regular font right next to it in parenthesis. |
