| Here is a follow up to what I wrote about regarding people�s misuse of the word ignorant. Even thought I only see this happens amongst ghetto people, I feel the world should see it before it gets too out of control. Apparently there is a new word out that Webster and I am unaware of. There are people who refer to talking with someone with the verb, conversate. This is a prime example of people trying to sound smarter than they really are. I�m not an English major or anything, but I think the word they are looking for is converse, which is the correct synonym for talking. People are going to extreme measures to give everyone the image that they have an education. I�m all in favor of people having decent sized vocabularies, but making up your own words, or taking existing words and adding �ate� at the end of them doesn�t count. Why would you want to use a larger synonym for a common word like talk? That�s why contractions were invented, so we can say less syllables to save our breath and make more bullshit statements. |
