Review of literature on mood disorders
in multiple sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is the most often demyelinating disease of central nervous system affecting usually young people in third and fourth decade of their lives. Although the disease is mainly perceived as a disease of motor and sensory systems it is often accompanied by emotional changes which are often unrecognized or ignored. This article is a reviev of past and current opinions on mood disorders of people affected by multiple sclerosis, the article presents also current opinions on pathogenesis and treatment of emotional problems in multiple sclerosis.
