| Before and After: Dir en grey was formed on 1997 in Osaka, with five member, Kyo (vocal), Kaoru (lead guitar), Die (guitar), Toshiya (bass) and Shinya (drum). Before that, Kyo, Kaoru, Die and Shinya was from another band called La:Sadie. and Toshiya was with another band called Gosick. |

| What I think Of them.... I think they are constantly changing the music and the melodies so that they dont get sick and tired of same melodies and beats. They like to explore new side of music and not afraid to experimental it. I find it unique and freshing everytime their singles released. In same time their fashions and style too change to follow up with their current music beats. Kyo => trying to make himself look more scary and not-so-cute. But I admit it, in the obscure PV, he looked really spooked up with the net over his face and vomitting all over himself. Kaoru, Toshiya and Shinya have cut down their make up and now turning back the image of manhood.... Shinya havent got much different but he to dress up in pants rather then skirt and dresses. Toshiya gotta his hair grew abit long but he manage to jazz up his hair to have a volume and then sort of curl up at the end of his hair to make it spikey. Die got his hair cut and currently I saw a picture of him in black hair which I think making him more mature and not-so-crazy type! T_T But his panda-eye-black-eyeshadow still on the list. | What you want to Know.... Correct me if I wrong, in total they released 4 full major albums, 2 mini albums and 16 singles. They released their first indies album, MISSA, on that very same year. In Auguat 1998, their single, I'll reached no.7 on the Orican in Japan(its like billboards at US). In the beginning of 1999, three major singles were release which was produced by Yoshiki from X-Japan. And then their first major album, GAUZE, were released. Then their 2nd major album, KISOU and currently Vulgar which released on 2003.... I forgot which month so SUE ME!!! |
