Three mountains dominates the Volturno Valley, which also separate the board with other regions. These are the Matese mountains, the Monte Maggiore and the high peak of Roccamonfina. The river Volturno goes through the Valley and touches almost all the villages in the valley.

The north of the Campania region is place of great panorama, from the Matese mountain you can see the Adriatic and Tyren coast, and the high peak of the Abruzzo region.

Food and drinks

The strength of the Valley are the sun, the water and the warmers of the people. The tradition of the high province reflect in different tradition of local food and wines.

To remember;

· The honey, home made from trees, and bees is produced a bit everywhere, especially in Pietramelara, Alife and Baia Latina.

· The wine, a product which can be tasted everywhere with local production

· Cheeses, like the wine, can be tasted everywhere and especially the famous cheeses from the Matese Mountains such as the pecorino, ricotta cheese etc. Not to be missed the famous mozzarella cheese produced a bit everywhere.

· Jam, famous from peach, cherry, etc

· The oil, very famous the olive oil of S.Angelo di Alife, Piedimonte, Gioia Sannitica, Raviscanina and Caiazzo

· The bread, also a product that can be tasted everywhere but very popular the bread of Baia Latina and Piedimonte Matese
