The Mirror of Visions was not like Ravens handheld mirror.  The smaller mirror helped her focus her emotions while the large pool of water helped her capture and clarify her visions of the future.  Or at least that was what it was supposed to do.  At the moment, it seemed to be broken, fixated on a particular scene.

Show me something else! Raven commanded, her frustration apparent.  The picture did not change, but returned to the beginning.  This isnt a vision, it is a dream, a wish, she said, trying to coax the delicate instrument to work.  The scene remained unchanged.  Sighing, Raven forced herself to remain calm and decided to indulge in the images flashing before her.

She saw herself and Robin locked in a passionate embrace.  It always started here, with them already in the middle of their encounter.  His back was to the vision, but she knew he wasnt wearing his mask, which only lent credence to her belief this was just a dream, for Robin never removed his mask.

At the moment, he was busy removing her outfit.  The Raven in the water was just as anxiously removing his Kevlar shirt.  Robins skin was marred by silvery pink scars, testament to their many fights.  His muscles shifted and bunched as he held Raven close.

Raven closed her eyes to the scene, knowing it well enough that it still played behind her eyes.  She had had this dream for the past four months.  It was one of the reasons she had turned to the Mirror of Visions.  The dream had thrown Raven into confusion and she had been unable to concentrate on anything.  It was no wonder the mirror wasnt working.  It was probably picking up her mental and emotional upheaval.  She would have to meditate some more to banish the dream.

But for the moment, she indulged it.  In her mind, she could smell Robins shampoo, hear his whispers of reassurance and love, taste the saltiness of his sweat.  He laid her down on his bed, kissing her neck.  Raven moaned.  His rough fingers caressed her sides while her slender ones slid into his thick hair.  Using her grip, she pulled him back up to taste his lips.

He tasted spicy, as he swept his tongue into her mouth.  Raven was unused to this.  With her powers, she was afraid to have a lover, but until recently, she had never wanted one.  The feel of Robins body above her told her how foolish she had been.  His weight was oddly comforting.

Suddenly, Robin pulled back and Raven could see his eyes clearly.  Subconsciously she must have decided they were blue.  They glittered with warmth and love.  The promise held within them was too much for her.

Raven hit the water with her hand, turning away from the mirror to quickly distance herself from the dream.  She walked out of her room, heading toward the stairwell to go up to the roof.  The first blast of cool air instantly calmed her.  In the distance, she could see the sun was setting.  It was breathtaking, but she wasnt the only one to think so.

On the other end of the roof, Robin stood talking with a floating Starfire.  Ravens good mood instantly vanished replaced with a deep ache.  They seemed so natural together, Starfire and Robin.  Though neither had ever said anything, Raven was positive they were seeing each other.  It made her heart ache.  She turned to leave, but Robin had heard her.

Raven, he called, moving toward her.  She glanced at him, hiding deeper into her cloak.

Didnt mean to interrupt, she said tonelessly, preparing to leave again.

Wait, Robin said.  He had reached her now, his hand gently touching her elbow.  The touch sent electricity running through her system.  She looked pointedly at the contact and Robin released her.

I wished to speak with you, he said.

I need to meditate, Raven responded automatically.

But friend Raven, Starfire said.  You said this morning that you would spend the day meditating.  You have not finished?

Raven bit her lip.  Despite the fact that Starfire more than likely stood between her and her crush, it was impossible to hate the Tamaranian girl.  She was so innocent and nave.

I can never meditate enough, Raven said, though at the moment she didnt really feel like meditating.

But if youve already meditated, surely you can spare Robin a moment of your time, Starfire reasoned.  She smiled brilliantly, almost blinding Raven.  I believe you will be most happy with what he will tell you.

Ravens stomach flipped.  You know what he wants to say?  That could only mean one thing.  They were going to tell her that they were seeing one another.  That was the last thing Raven wanted to hear, but she could see no way to avoid the announcement.  She decided it was better to get it over with than to wait.

Very well, she said.  Go ahead.  Robin glanced at Starfire, who looked at him.  Her expression didnt change and Robins was always hidden so Raven had no idea what they were thinking.

I kind of wanted to talk alone, Robin said.  Raven crossed her arms over her chest.

If Starfire knows what you will say, I see no reason why she shouldnt be here, she persisted.

When you hear what I have to say, you will understand why its better we speak alone, Robin said, his voice dropping an octave.  When he did that, it made everything he said sound serious and important.  Raven was sure he had learned that from Batman.

At first Raven was confused, but then she reached a horrifying conclusion.  They knew of her feelings and Robin wanted to let her down easy.  She was definitely going to be sick.

Friend Raven, are you ill? Starfire asked, seeing the pale girl go even whiter.  Raven shook her head seeing no way to avoid this.  She held firm to her conviction that she should hear this now.

I am fine.  She turned to Robin.  Very well, she said, giving her permission to speak with her.  Raven looked expectantly at Starfire, assuming she would fly away and Robin could tell her what he wished, but to her surprise, Robin opened the door to go downstairs.

Hesitant, she followed him down.  They found Beast Boy and Cyborg playing a video game.  Why dont we go to my room? Robin said, leading her down the hall.

Your room? Raven almost squeaked, her heart beating faster.  Why there? she said with a calmer voice.

Well, I know you dont like anyone in your room and no one will bother us in mine.  It was a perfectly reasonable explanation, but didnt calm Raven in the least.  Nervously, she allowed Robin to lead her to his room.

She had never before been in his room.  It was disturbingly similar to the one in her dream.  Forcing herself to remain focused and *not* look at the bed, Raven watched as Robin walked over to his window.  He leaned against the glass, his body taut with tension.  Concerned, the pale girl moved to his side.

Robin, what is it? she asked. Her concern only increased when he refused to look at her.

I . . . that is, we . . .  Wow, this is really hard, he said, running a hand nervously through his hair.  His unease only increased Ravens own.

Just say it, she ordered, the tension suffocating her.  Robin straightened up, turning slightly towards her.

My name is Tim Drake, he said.  Raven blinked in surprise.  The last thing she expected was for him to reveal his true identity.  Relieved but still confused, Raven frowned.

Why couldnt you tell me this in front of Starfire? she asked.  Robin rubbed the back of his neck, an action that revealed his continuing nervousness.

Star doesnt know my identity.  No one does, he said.  Ravens frown deepened.

I dont understand.  If no one else knows, why are you telling me?  To her amazement, Robin seemed hesitant.  This put her guard up because Robin was *never* hesitant about anything.  She watched him walk away from her, once again giving her a view of his back.  If it werent for his damn cape, shed have a view of his butt too, she thought irritably.

Raven watched Robin pass his hand wearily over his face.  For a moment, he was very still.  Raven became very worried.  Quietly she approached him.  She reached out to put her hand on his shoulder, but he turned before she could.  What she saw made her gasp.

His eyes were blue, just as she imagined they would be, filled with such intense emotions that Raven could not begin to make sense of them.  Even without his mask, Robins face revealed nothing of his thoughts.

They stood in silence, simply looking at each other.  Raven was way past shocked, unable to think of anything beyond how handsome Robin, no Tim looked.  Her indigo eyes blinked, trying to bring reason back to her brain.

Without warning, Tim reached out and pulled Raven flush against him.  Her squeak of surprise was swallowed by his kiss.  At first, Raven didnt know what to do.  The last thing she expected was for Robin to start kissing her, but she had to admit she liked his kiss.

One of Tims hands rested at the nape of her neck, keeping her mouth to his.  His other hand rested on her lower back, gently rubbing soothing circles.  When his hand slid lower to cup her rear, Raven gasped and Tim took the opportunity to let his tongue slip into her warm mouth.

The pale girl couldnt stop the moan from leaving her lips when she felt Tims tongue sweep over the back of her teeth seeking to draw her into responding more vigorously to his kiss.  Raven was overwhelmed; she had never felt anything like this before.

Finally Tim drew away for air, but his grip remained iron tight.  Ravens world was spinning and it took her a moment to rein in her thoughts.  When she did, she looked up into Tims sparkling blue eyes.  His expression was a mixture of apprehension and rapture.

Wh-why did you do that? she asked, very aware of Tims hand on her back.  Sensing her confusion, he had moved it from her rear.

Robin smiled sadly at her.  Dont you know? he asked softly.  Raven could only give him a confused look.  I . . . Raven, Ive wanted to do that since the moment I first laid eyes on you.  Every night, I dream about you.  Hell, during the day too.  All I can think about is your indigo eyes, that sultry voice of yours, and . . . all your curves.  The last bit was whispered, punctuated with a light pass of his hand over her hip and a delightful blush staining his cheeks.

His words caused Ravens heart to beat faster.  She couldnt believe her ears.  What was Robin saying?

What? she said, still dazed.  Tims grip on her waist tightened, pulling her closer against his hard chest.

Ive fallen in love with you, he said quietly, his eyes glowing intensely.  Raven shook her head slowly, as if trying to clear it.

But, you cant . . . you dont . . . Stop it! she suddenly yelled, breaking free of his embrace.  I know you dont like me, but I thought I had at least earned your respect.  Why are you playing these games with me? she demanded, tears threatening to spill from her purple eyes.

Tim looked as crushed as she felt.  He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.  Raven, its not a joke.  I would *never* hurt you.  If I did, Id only be hurting myself.

And what about Starfire? Raven said.  She desperately wanted to believe what Robin was saying, but she was afraid to be hurt.  Without realizing it, Tim had moved closer to her.

Starfire and I are just friends.  I think she wanted to be more, but she saw my feelings before even I recognized them.  Star confronted me about them, forcing me to take action.  Thats what we were talking about on the roof, what were always talking about when were alone: you.  At this very moment, shes preparing some Tamaran goop in anticipation of . . . well, she hopes that you and I might get together.  Again, that adorable blush painted Tims face.

Do you mean that?  Are you really in love with me? Raven asked.  She stared up into his eyes.  It was like her dream all over again, the same warmth and affection shone brightly from his brilliant blue eyes.  Seeing this true love, Raven was left with no doubts.  She knew it was no trick, joke or evil plot, but it was nice to hear Robins next words anyway.

I really, truly love you Raven.  I want you by my side.  For a moment both were still, just looking at each other.  Then, Ravens face broke out into a wicked smile and she launched herself at the Boy Wonder.  Her mouth sought his.

Tim took a moment before responding, but soon he was holding her tightly, returning the kiss with equal passion.  It occurred to Raven as she felt his hands searching for the zipper to her uniform that her mirror wasnt broken after all.  She would have to apologize to the temperamental magical artifact tomorrow after she had finished speaking with Robin. . . or maybe sometime next week.
