The Lord shared with me about dwelling on unpleasant things, I would like to share what He taught me about this.  Do not let your grief and passions run wild, beserk, these panic attacks can stem from satan's strongholds of our mind. When these negative, destructive thoughts come in, they bring us down.  Only Jesus can fill our emptiness, we have everything we need In Him.  Satan wants us to fret, fuss and fume, get all worked up, plant seeds of doubt and disbelief, the Lord often says to me "Forsake the way of the anxious and fretful, do not panic or be seized with alarm, strengthen yourself in my word."

Never Surrender to Negative Emotions
Do not react carnally with worry, fear, confusion, never allow yourself to think fearful, negative thoughts.  In God I put my trust, trust means let go and let God work it out.  God says "do not be fainthearted or afraid.  Do not be terrified, stand firm on his word, make a decision to trust God."  A prayer I often use on this issue is "God I turn this situation over to you, to your care and protection, I resist worry, fear and panic.  I give this situation over to your care and protection, I praise you for taking care of this problem."  Don't bind God by your doubt and disbelief.  People bound Jesus from doing good works there because of their unbelief and lack of faith.  The Lord has spoken to me and said "Cast out that doubt and disbelief".  Psalm 138.7 "Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will bring me safely thru them, you will clench your fist against my angry enemies, your power will save me."    There is no problem so great that God cannot solve it if we give Him full control of the situation.
WISDOM FROM GOD - dwelling on unpleasent things
1 Peter 3.ll  "Let him turn away from wickedness, shun it, and let him do right.  Let him search for peace, harmony, undisturbedness from fears, agitating passions, moral conflicts and seek it eagerly.  Do not merely desire peaceful relations (with God, with your fellowmen and with yourself) but pursue, go after them."
There are times in our lives when we are disheartened and some of our days are joyless and unrewarding, at such times we should turn to our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer and seek a renewal of mind and spirit.  Our spirit will improve for He has promised.  If you are suffering in body and spirit, turn to our Lord Jesus in prayer and pray for His healing presence to fill your mind and heart.
1 Timothy l.7  "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline."  We can be set free from fear, Ps. 34.4  "I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears."
Anxiety is a distress of the mind and is a sin.  It is often a result of subconscious fears and negative thoughts.  Anxiety and its resulting tension will choke your faith, bind your flow of joy and severly hinder your personal relationship with the Lord.  You cannot deal with anxiety by trying to stop it, or by trying to make yourself relax, this will only make things worse.  The only effective way to deal with it is commit yourself to God.  You must call upon the Lord and know that He is a very present help in times of trouble.
Worry is an emotional sin that plaques the lives of christrians.  We can believe in Jesus as our Saviour and still be quilty of the sin of worry.  The reason we worry is because we are so much under the control of feelings and negative emotions that our spiritual man cannot take control of our mind to where we dwell upon the Word of God and have the mind of Christ.  Instead of worrying, reach out in faith, confess your sins, and touch the Lord.  Luke 12 29-3l
