Chapter 3: Heihachi Sees an Opportunity

"Jin? Can you hear me?"

Jin moaned. His head was killing him.

"He moaned! He's awake!"

Jin moaned again, his eyes slowly opening. He could make out three blurry shapes leaning over him.

"Jin? Can you hear me?"

"Yes." Jin moaned, draping one arm over his face.

"Don't move. I'm going to realign your neck." An unfamiliar female voice said.

"Ok."

Two strong hands cradled his neck carefully then shifted his head just so. There was a slight crack and the pain in his head went away.

"There..."

Jin moved his arm and opened his eyes. His vision cleared and he saw Julia, Ling, and some woman leaning over him.

"How do you feel?" The woman asked.

The Japanese rolled his shoulders and neck. "Good. Thanks...Ms...uh..."

"Chang. Michelle Chang."

"Julia's adoptive mother."

Michelle nodded.

"Oh Jin, I'm sooooo glad you're ok!" Ling cried, hurling herself into Jin's arms.

Jin grunted, barely able to catch Ling. "Uh...thanks...Ling."

Jin set Ling down and stood up.

"What time is it?"

"Eight twenty. You weren't out that long." Michelle replied.

"Who were you fighting? Hwoarang??" Julia asked.

"No. A new fighter...Christie, but Hwoarang was there cheering her on."

"You should stay away from him." Xiaoyu said.

He's here, Kazama. My other half...

"L-look. I've got to go. Thanks again Ms. Chang."

Without waiting for a response Jin rushed from the infirmary.

"Wow...did you see how pale he went when you told him to stay away from Hwoarang?" Julia asked.

Ling snorted a little. "Jin's a fool."

"A fool in love perhaps..." Michelle said.

Ling just snorted.

Jin rushed down the hallway as fast as he could.

You can't ignore me forever, Kazama. I will reunite with him eventually. You might as well make this easier on yourself.

"Leave me alone." Jin hissed.

Jin ran down a ramp into the parking garage. He stopped short, seeing a familiar Korean shining up his bike. Old feelings flooded Jin's mind as he watched Hwoarang clean the motorcycle's seat. Cautiously, he approached. The redhead heard his footsteps and whirled around. The look the Korean gave him was enough to stop Jin dead in his tracks.

"You have five seconds to get out of my sight, Kazama."

Ignoring the warning, Jin stepped a little bit closer. "Hwoarang..."

"What part of that statement did you not get??" Hwoarang snapped, hopping on his bike.

"Wait, Thai. Don't go..." Jin said, placing his hand on Hwoarang's shoulder.

The redhead snapped, grabbing Jin's hand and twisting his wrist back the wrong way. Jin couldn't stop the howl of pain from escaping his lips and he dropped to his knees to avoid having his wrist broken.

"I'm not your little faggot-lover anymore so keep your fucking hands to yourself. And don't you ever, I mean ever call me by my real name ever again. You got it??"

"Yes." Jin grit out.

With that, Hwoarang released Jin's hand and sped off-leaving the Japanese coughing in a cloud of exhaust. Jin sat on the pavement coughing and rubbing his tender wrist.

"Your piece of tail not cooperating, hmn?"

Jin half-turned to see Lee walking up to him. The Japanese never did care for his uncle's promiscuous behavior but he didn't have anything against the guy. He let Lee help him to his feet and dust him off.

"Hwoarang's been such a brute these days. He's usually not so violent..."

"He hates me...doesn't he?"

"Yes, he does."

"How'd he end up with you?" Jin asked.

Lee laughed a bit at the jealous tone in Jin's voice. "He found me actually. I was in South Korea on business when his pathetic little gang challenged me to a fight. Hwoarang wins: they get royalties from my business, I win: I get Hwoarang. You can guess who won."

"...You did."

"Bingo. I won Hwoarang...boy was he ever pissed. He cheered up though when I brought him back to my mansion in the Bahamas."

"Did you do anything with him?"

"When he let me, I fucked him. That's about it."

Jin winced. Lee smirked, patting his nephew on the shoulder.

"Nothing personal, Jin. I didn't even know you two were together until a month ago."

"It's fine, uncle..."

"Please. Call me Lee."

"Lee..."

"You hurt him bad, Jin. Y'know that scar he has?"

"Yeah..."

"He gave that to himself as punishment for masturbating while thinking about you. You screwed him up good, Jin. I've never seen anyone so angry and hateful in my whole life."

Jin sighed, hanging his head.

"Normally. I wouldn't give two shits about you, you know that."

"Yes."

"But, for once, I will express concern. Stay away from Hwoarang. He's not who he used to be. He's unstable and dangerous now..."

Jin didn't answer. Lee shrugged and made his way back inside.

If you let me out. You can control Hwoarang. Make him do what you wish.

"Shut up." Jin growled, turning and following Lee back inside.

**********************

Heihachi had been watching the whole drama from his office. He had video cameras placed everywhere except the fighter's rooms because the hotel wouldn't allow him. An evil smile tugged at the old man's lips.

"So...my grandson is still hung up on that snot-nosed punk. This could be used to my advantage. Jin is a sap. He'd do anything for Hwoarang...even if the punk hates him."
