Nemesis: Darkness

by KatiKat

A black black palace in a black black world filled with black black souls...

A young prince standing by the window, looking out at the black black sky crisscrossed by purple flashes...

One source of light fighting against the black black void...

The vision came again. The vision of death and destruction. It visited Sapphires dreams, leaving him exhausted, drenched in sweat, heart constricted with horror. Diamonds death... His brothers death at the hands of the dark creature that invaded their lives. The Wiseman. The demon. The master of darkness.

Sapphire shuddered and wound his thin midnight blue robe more tightly around his body. The tiled floor was cold under his bare feet and a cold draft was coming through the open window. But he needed it. He needed to feel something besides the painful dread that settled in his chest. He made his decision and he wouldnt change his mind. But...

Everything would have been different if Diamond had just listened to him. But the days when his older brother trusted his judgement and listened to his advice were gone. Now he was nothing more than a naive kid brother.

He tried. He really did try to talk to Diamond. To tell him about the visions he started to have the moment the Wiseman appeared among them. But he didnt believe it. He even told Sapphire that he was jealous of the Wiseman, that he was jealous of the time Diamond spent with his new advisor instead of him. He wouldnt listen to him. But Sapphire knew... He knew that should they go to Earth, everything they worked so hard for would be destroyed. No peaceful living among the Earthians... Only death and destruction... And the Wiseman the winner no matter how it would end.

And so he went to the Wiseman himself... and offered him a deal. He would do anything if he would just ensure that Diamond would live. He would do anything... anything at all... anything... And the Wiseman accepted his offer...

Sapphire shuddered but the cold he felt didnt come from the outside. No, it was the coldness of his heart. He would have never... he would have never suspected this... He tried to take a deep breath but his lungs refused to cooperate. He could feel the panic attack approach...

Diamond... Think about Diamond... he was telling himself over and over again. Could you live with the knowledge that you could have prevented his death, that you could have changed the inevitable future, but you didnt? He closed his eyes and immediately the scene of Diamonds death flashed through his mind... bathed in blood... on a cold floor... And he felt his heart break once again. He never told his brother about his feelings. He kept them hidden, deep deep inside his heart... And now it was too late to reveal them... Because after tonight... everything would change...

The room bathed in black darkness when he opened his eyes. Even the blue light crystal embedded in the walls ceased to shine. He turned around, his wild look trying to break through the wall of darkness... and then he froze. There - two shining points in the dark... the Wisemans eyes... like a beast watching his prey struggle in the last throes of agony...

"Are you still ready to keep your part of our deal, little Prince?" the hated voice grated in the darkness, there was a mocking edge to it.

Sapphire clenched his hands in fists and looked in the demons eyes with braveness he didnt feel. "Yes, if you intend to keep yours." He hated to hear his voice shudder and break at the end.

The mocking laugh again. "Dont worry about that, little Prince..."

The two regarded themselves in the low light the violet flashes crisscrossing the sky offered. Sapphires heart was beating wildly and the tension in the room threatened to suffocate him.

"Well?" the Wiseman asked and Sapphire knew there was no escape anymore. Taking another shuddering breath he reached for the belt of his robe and untied it slowly. Lifting his hands he pushed the robe down his shoulders and let it fall to the ground at his feet. The storm outside became even more violent bathing his naked body in purple light.

"How beautiful and tempting..." the creepy chuckle sounded through the room. "And all mine to do with as I please."

Sapphire closed his eyes tightly and shivered hearing the dark possessiveness in his voice. He just wished for this night to end...

"Go and lie on the bed."

Sapphire swallowed but didnt even think about disobeying the order. Slowly he walked to the bed feeling the heated eyes in the darkness roam over his unprotected body. He climbed up and lay down on his back in the middle. He locked his eyes on the ceiling even though he couldnt see it. He decided not to watch... He wouldnt watch... That would make it even harder...

There was a rustle of clothes as the Wiseman shed his dark robe. Nobody ever saw him disrobed. Nobody knew what he looked like. And that made it even harder on Sapphire - not knowing what he could expect...

He could feel the demon levitate closer and he shut his eyes tightly. He had never felt so exposed, so vulnerable.

"Spread your legs for me..."

Slowly he obeyed.

"More! And bend your knees... I want to see you..."

The heat in that old raspy voice made him almost physically ill, but once again he didnt dare to disobey. He lifted his legs and bent them in knees planting his feet firmly on the bed. Then he proceeded to open himself even further to his worst enemy.

"Ahh, wonderful... So white and innocent..."

Sapphire bit his lower lip but couldnt stop the sob that escaped him. One hot tear trickled down his cheek and vanished in his dark blue hair.

"Thats it. Cry for me... You are so beautiful in your desperation..."

Sapphire could now feel the demon hovering over him, but the hand touching his thigh still surprised him enough to open his eyes. The glowing eyes were over him, just a couple of inches. He could feel the raspy breath of the dark creature. The hand moving up his inner thigh was scalding hot and ice cold at the same time, leaving behind the feeling of thousands of sharp needles buried under his skin.

The Wiseman moved closer and Sapphire closed his eyes tightly again moving his head to the side.

"So warm and soft... a virgin sacrifice for peace..." the demon breathed in his ear.

He couldnt take it. He couldnt. It was too much. He couldnt...

"Look at me..."

Sapphire shook his head. No. He wouldnt. He couldnt.

"I said - look at me!" the creature repeated forcefully and pressed the claws on his hand deeply into Sapphires creamy thigh to make his point.

He turned his head slowly and reluctantly opened his eyes. The two glowing coals moved closer and closer, the look in them almost hypnotizing. But the spell was broken the moment the unseen dry lips touched his. The scalding hot tongue pressed his lips apart and pushed in his mouth. Sapphire whimpered in protest. The taste of rotting flesh made him almost gag. It seemed like a small eternity before the kiss ended leaving Sapphire light headed and panting.

"So sweet..."

Sapphire turned his head to the side again and sobbed quietly. He had the feeling he would vomit any moment. He had known it would be bad, but this...

The hot wet tongue licked the black half moon on his forehead - the symbol of his family. "So proud of wearing the mark of the Dark Ones," the demon rasped into his ear.

Sapphire could feel the creatures other hand on his hip now, moving down, pressing his legs up to his chest and further apart, making room for the black shadow looming over him. He whimpered as he felt his skin burn at each place the Wiseman touched. It hurt. It hurt to be touched by him. He couldnt even imagine how it would feel when...

Suddenly he felt the bed dip and without warning the Wisemans shaft tore through him. He could feel himself being impaled, split in two as the demon moved all the way in. He screamed until his throat felt raw and burning. It hurt so much. He never imagined that something could hurt so much. He cried openly, hot tears running down his cheeks. He gripped the covers under him tightly in his fists and he heard it tear, just like the tender skin inside of him.

The Wiseman didnt make any sound, his hot breath scalding Sapphires neck. The young man bit his lower lip to keep himself from screaming as the black demon ravaged his trembling body.

Diamond... Sapphire whispered in his mind, trying to detach himself from what was happening. He could almost see his brother with his minds eye. His tall, strong figure, white hair, the eyes that used to be full of warmth every time he looked at him... Used to...

Suddenly he was torn out of his deep thoughts as the demon thrust into him savagely one last time, releasing himself deep in Sapphires body. Sapphire cried out, the knuckles on his tightly closed fists white. It hurt so much... it burnt as if someone poured acid into him. Then the Wisemans body over him lost its physical form once again, turning into a black, dark shadow that descended upon him, blanketing every part of his body, choking him, seeping into him, into his soul... tainting him with its darkness... breaking the last innocence that he had left - the innocence of his soul...

... MINE... whispered the raspy voice in his mind a break of second before Sapphire passed out from the agony by falling into darkness.

**************

He was still lying on his bed when he woke up, his legs thrown apart carelessly. He felt weak and dizzy. So tired. He opened his eyes to find his room still submerged in darkness. There, by the door... two glowing points... The Wisemans eyes...

Sapphires breath caught in his throat and he felt the need to cover himself up. Tiredly he reached to pull the cover over himself when a chuckle stopped him.

"You dont need to hide yourself now. Ive seen everything already."

He resigned himself to the truth and let his hand fall down next to him. There was no need to be shy anymore. He didnt have anything more left.

"Are you not interested if I will hold my part of our deal?" the raspy voice came through the darkness.

Sapphire gasped. Did that mean... did that mean that everything he sacrificed was for nothing?

"Maybe I didnt like what I tasted..."

He opened his mouth to say something when he felt it. The dark thing moving inside him. Inside his soul. Inside his body. He felt the Wiseman inside his head, the pressure that gave him a splitting headache in a matter of seconds. He raised his hands and clutched his head in them, curling in a tight ball on his side. It hurt. The pain was making him nauseous.

"... but I liked it. And I like it still." The chuckle again.

A tendril of darkness moved in his mind and Sapphire felt as if the Wiseman was touching him again. On his back, on his thighs, inside of him... He moaned in desperation.

"Your family wont go to Earth. Not now at least," the voice was suddenly very cold, the amusement lost. "My plans will be fulfilled. But I have all the time in the world. Ive waited for so long. Another century or two dont matter for me. I will hold my part of our deal, Diamond wont die."

Sapphire was shaking with agony, quietly moaning as the mass of darkness moved through his body. It took some time for the Wisemans voice to filter through his pain filled mind. And even through his suffering he felt an equally painful relief. Diamond wasnt going to die. He was so relieved that he started to sob.

"I will see you tonight, my little Prince," whispered the raspy voice.

Seconds later the agony was gone, leaving only a deep burning ache inside of the quietly crying Prince. The darkness dissipated, the light crystals started to glow with a deep blue light again. And outside - the sky was clear and the starts shone. The storm was over.
