Blade is a very easy going colt in the barn and pasture, despite his name! He is a very fast colt, even at a such a young age and he loves to race my other yearling colts and fillies around the pasture. Blade has a huge desire to outrun his companions. He even tried to outrun my star two-year-old, Natural Element, who was turned out in the ajoining pasture!
On His Pedigree
His sire, ALL ABOARD, is owned by Momentum Ltd. and was a GI level racer who's record was lost, but it is known that he excelled at the longer distances. He should give Blade staying power that will be required if he is to race at the Grade I level on turf or even at the classic distance on dirt. All Aboard is by FILAGO, an American-bred son of FOOLISH PLEASURE that raced mainly in France.
Blade's dam, VENOMOUS, is also owned by Momentum Ltd. and is their newest broodmare. She is a daughter of Grade I winner DESIS, who is by another Grade I winner, SHARPEN UP. Venomous is out of a HIGHLAND BLADE mare, POISONOUS.
Blade is a well-bred colt with a very interesting pedigree that combines several Grade I winning and producing bloodlines from many different countries. I am looking forward to seeing how Blade matures and I can hardly wait until his track debut sometime in early 2007.
