Chapter One: Deep in My Soul

Luna was shivering. "Isn't it supposed to be warm in the southeastern US?" she wondered out-loud between chattering teeth. The cool October night wind made her fur stand on end. She pressed closer to the tree, hoping it would block the wind. She wanted to go inside, but she knew that Sailor Moon would walk by.

Luna adjusted her mask. She remembered how Artemis had ridiculed her "costume." "But those silly Earthlings are celebrating that feast!" she had argued. "They all wear those silly costumes and masks to scare away the monsters. I need to fit in." Luna couldn't remember what exactly Artemis had said next, but she knew it had been rather rude. She didn't regret scratching him for being such a smarty-cat. She would show him. Besides, the mask helped to hide the golden moon symbol on her forehead.

A group of students walked by, trudging up the steep bike path, laughing and teasing merrily as they proceeded to Franklin Street. "WHERE IS SHE?!" Luna thought frantically. She needed to find the Senshi soon. Her princess had commissioned her to do this task, despite all objections from the Moon Kingdom's Court of asking a mere human to assist them.

"Hey!" a random fraternity brother called out to Luna. Realizing that she'd been spotted, Luna jumped back just in time as an empty beer bottle shattered where Luna had been standing moments earlier.

"Leave that poor Halloween kitty-cat alone!" a drunk girl giggled.

"No!" the drunk boy said with determination as he staggered closer to Luna. The cat jumped out of the way as the boy made a drunken lunge at her. "I need a black cat for Halloween." Luna deftly jumped onto the boy's back before she bounded up the tree. "Hey! Come back!" the boy cried in vain.

"Hmm!" Luna humphed. She really hoped that the Moon Princess was correct in reviving its human soldier, Sailor Moon.

* * *

Eriko made a face at herself in the mirror. "Are you sure that I got the black paint everywhere?" she called out to her roommate Lily.

Lily momentarily stopped fussing over the ears of her teddy bear pj's. Approaching Eriko, she instructed, "Get up." She walked around Eriko slowly, her eyes covering every visible inch of her, a scrutinizing frown on her face. After a moment a large grin spread across her face. "It's the perfect C-ko!" Lily decreed. She playfully fluffed up the long black hair Eriko had pulled up into a ponytail. "You're a terrific Shadow Girl."

Eriko smiled back at her. "You aren't a half-bad Lain yourself."

"Why, thank you," Lily beamed. She quickly adjusted the single long lock of hair in front of her left ear. She pushed back the hood of her pajamas.

"I still can't believe that you actually cut your hair for this," Eriko stated incredulously.

Lily laughed. "I'm more worried about the dye! I hope my parents won't kill me now that I'm currently a red-head."

Eriko grinned. "Well auburn at least. The dye is temporary, right?" Lily nodded. "I wouldn't worry about making out a will."

As they finished dressing, there was a knock on the door. Eriko finished brushing out her hair as she heard Lily squeal in delight at the door. She ducked her head around her mirror to see Lily's boyfriend, Alan, bent on one knee, offering not the proverbial rose, but holding up a spread deck of Trigun playing cards. Eriko laughed as she sat back at her desk.

She heard Alan and Lily greet each other and share a small kiss before she called out, "Hello Alan. How's it going?"

"Pretty good, pretty good, Eriko. Ready to revolutionize Halloween on Franklin Street?" Alan asked as he pulled a yo-yo out of some unknown source.

"WHOO-HOO!" Lily cried. "Allegiance or death!"

"GREASE DUMPSTER!" three male voices cried from the hallway, approaching room 331 of Hinton James.

Eriko laughed. "Looks like Andrew, Eric, and Daley are here."

"Hello!" Andrew called gaily. "We ready to head on out?"

"Hai!" Lily and Eriko cried as they scrambled to gather last minute stuff and run out the door.

* * *

"So where are we meeting the others again?" Eriko asked as they traveled up the bike trail to the main campus.

"Aim and her beau are meeting us with Sam over at Sam's dorm in Carmichael," Daley responded.

"What about the others?"

"We'll meet them in front of the Di," Andrew answered.

Lily paused as she realized that Eriko wasn't following them anymore. Instead, she was standing under a tree.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked.

"I just got the feeling" Eriko faded off.

"What? That someone's watching us?" Alan teased. "You've been watching too many horror movies."

As everyone laughed at this, Eriko shook her head, trying to clear it. "Nevermind," she said with a huge grin. "It was nothing."

Moments later they met up with Sam, Aimie, and Dick. They stood around talking for a few moments before heading off to the Di.

Eriko, chatting with Andrew and Daley, suddenly grinned mischievously. In a loud voice she asked, "Hey Andrew. What was the legend of Silent Sam again?"

"Well, supposedly he's quiet all the time-"

"Kinda like our Sam, right?" Eriko interjected.

"-unless a virgin happens to walk past. In which case-"

"We have audio contact," Daley completed.

"So," Alan asked, "Why is Sam talking to Aimie?"

"HEY!" Aimie objected playfully. "I'm a good girl really."

Her boyfriend snorted snidely before returning his attention to Sam's conversation.

* * *

Luna was getting tired. Why were they standing together? She would need to talk to the Senshi alone. Now they were all standing around, doing nothing. How humans could be so lazy she would never understand.

That had been a close one in the forest along the bike path. That girl had nearly seen her. Silly human. Luna had to fight the urge to jump onto the girl head as she stopped right underneath where Luna sat on the branch.

Luna needed to wait for the entire group to gather together. Princess Serenity had instructed her to find Sailor Moon. She was there among this crowd. She just needed to wait

Luna quickly sprang to her feet as the slowly growing crowd moved north, towards the Di Chambers and then Franklin St.

* * *

"So!" Tsubasa chirped. "We ready to go?" she asked as she smoothed the skirt of her Sailor Moon fuku. She tried to keep still as her sister fixed her odango.

"Where'd you get the wings for this?!" Mara asked, her face radiating the complete awe of her beholding Tsubasa's rendition of Eternal Moon.

"I found it for her at Hot Topic," Georgia answered, a big smile on her face.

"But," Carma objected, "it's still not pretty enough. Maybe if you had some bishounen"

"Bishounen?" Alan questioned. "But it'd have to be naked with wings"

Everyone cringed as Tsubasa shrieked in delight and blushed.

"Hey, what're you-" Muchacho started to ask.

"Watashi wa Meryl Streep-u" Georgia responded, beaming. "Now where's my Vash the Stampede!?" she demanded.

"Right here, baby," Steffan declared. Eriko, Georgia, and Tsubasa groaned as Lily squealed and tackled/hugged Steffan tightly.

"Okai guys," co-immortal leaders Aaron and Glenda, dressed as each other for Halloween, called out, getting everyone's attention. "Photo time."

Luna was getting bored waiting outside for them. When she noticed them lining up inside she murmured, "Perfect! I can scan them easily now." Looking at the group for the first time, she jumped back as she immediately saw Tsubasa. "Could she be the real Sailor Moon?" the cat mused. "Better to take the readings and make sure. They're going to attack any minute now wouldn't be good to have the wrong girl"

Moments later, Luna had narrowed down the list of possible Senshi candidates to three

* * *

Eriko was starting to feel a little run down. This was not a good sign.

"Hey," Daley whispered in Quinn's ear. "I have something to say to you: Prrrrr"

Quinn smacked Daley upside the head. "Baka," she muttered, shaking her head.

Eriko cursed the strange dreams she'd been having recently, which made sleep so uneasy for her. It was making her paranoid. She still felt as if someone or something was watching them. Before she realized how much time had passed she heard Tsubasa call,

"Let's move on out to Franklin Street!" She emphasized her point by banging her long scepter against the ground.

Luna stealthily followed them from a distance as the group of friends made their way to Franklin Street. There were already hundreds of people piled up on the street, the majority of them less than sober. They passed by the policemen patrolling the street in lines of two and three.

"Stop!" one of the officers called out curtly, barring the way for Eternal Moon/Tsubasa. "You can't carry this out there."

"Naniyo?" Tsubasa asked, blinking in confusion. The officer pointed to her scepter. "But it's just a prop," she contested.

The officer frowned. "I'm going to have to confiscate that."

"That won't be necessary," Eriko intervened. "We'll just put this back. I'll walk you back to the chambers, Tsubasa."

* * *

Tsubasa was still fuming about not being able to carry her scepter.

"I don't blame you for being upset," Eriko tried to calm her, "but in order to make sure that none of those drunkards start swinging around heavy and/or pointy objects"

"I know!" Tsubasa exclaimed. "It's just that I worked so hard to make this and now"

"Perhaps we can still put that to some use," a female voice called out.

* * *

Jaedite stood on the roof of Top of the Hill. He laughed maniacally to himself. This was too easy. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of people were at his feet, just waiting to become human batteries.

Spreading his arms far apart, he summoned the daemon that would be able to transport human energy.

"You know what you have to do," he ordered this purple with white polka dots flowered daemon. "Serve Metallia well!"

"Yes, Master," it growled before throwing itself off of the roof to the unsuspecting victims below.

* * *

Eriko fumbled with the key in the door. "Can't you move any faster?!" Luna cried out accusingly. In a second, the door to the chamber was opened. The girls nearly collapsed onto the stairs, their knees weak from the shock.

"Luna?" Tsubasa called out hesitantly.

The cat blinked in surprise. "You know me?"

"Of course we know you!" Eriko exclaimed, laughing. "Any fan of Sailor Moon knows who you are. Only most of us aren't as senile as to actually think that we're talking to a Moon kitty... and that the kitty is talking back." She mumbled, "I definitely need more sleep."

"Then you must know!" Luna exclaimed.

"What?" Tsubasa asked. "The Negaverse?"

"The Nega-what?" The cat shook her head. "No, Metallia's minions. She's resurfaced."

"This isn't good," Tsubasa said grimly.

"One of you is Sailor Moon," Luna began. "Or that other girl... I may have to talk to her later."

"One of us?" Eriko interrupted. "You mean, you don't know." She laughed.

"What's so funny?" Tsubasa asked.

"This entire thing. I mean, first a talking cat. And now one of us - or a possible third party - is THE Sailor Moon." Eriko laughed again. "I'm sorry, I like the show, but I think I've outgrown these fantasies."

Luna sensed the edge of disbelief in Eriko's voice. "Fine!" Luna exclaimed. She jumped up into the air, spinning round and round. Suddenly a compact materialized, gently falling to the ground. She picked it up in her teeth and dropped it at Tsubasa's feet. "This is for you, Sailor Moon," Luna told Tsubasa.

"Wait!" Eriko objected. "What if she isn't Sailor Moon?! What'll it do to-"

"Don't worry," Luna responded. "If she isn't the real Tsuki no Senshi, then she'll be able to transform safely only this once."

"But how will we know if she's the right-"

"SHE will know," Luna answered curtly. "Besides, I thought you didn't believe"

Eriko made a face and pretended to not care once more. Tsubasa held the compact in her hands anxiously. She glanced at Luna who nodded acquiescence.

"Moon Prism Power!"

* * *

"OOOOOH!!!" a teeny-bopper squealed. "Look at that guy! He's SUCH a HOT Endymion!!"

The Prince of the Earth ignored these squeals, lost in deep thought. He had to find Metallia's minions before they started trouble in his kingdom. He was disobeying the Moon Princess's orders to stay away from Earth until the conflict was resolved, but he couldn't let these invaders destroy his kingdom.

"Hey, do you go to school here?" an inebriated girl asked Endymion, materializing out of no where. She rested her head on her shoulder.

"Excuse me?" he asked testily. "Get your head off of my shoulder." He pushed the girl to the ground where she fell in a drunken heap, looking confused. Lacking remorse, the Prince took long purposeful strides toward Franklin Street.

"Stop," an officer commanded. "You can't carry that thing," he said, pointing to Endymion's sword, "out here. I'll have to confiscate it."

Endymion recoiled, his hand on the hilt of his weapon. "No one shall touch my blade."

"Well, that's fine then," the officer said tersely. "Then you can't come here."

Endymion stopped himself short of drawing his blade and cutting the officer in half. "Fine," the prince mumbled. "I'll just have to dress up for the occasion." Wrapping his long cloak around him, he disappeared, much to the shock of the officers and local bystanders.

* * *

Eriko stared at the Moon Compact, which had fallen to the floor after the transformation. She slowly reached down and picked it up in her hands. It felt warm and made her skin tingle. It felt almost as if the Compact connected her to something greater

"So how do I look?" Tsubasa asked, twirling in front of Eriko and Luna for effect. Her Eternal Moon costume had been replaced with simpler fuku with a skirt that was way too short. Her hair was still the same light blonde it had been before, but it was now a little bit longer and drawn up into tighter odango with red decorations covering them. Tsubasa herself had changed slightly. She seemed older, more "grown up."

Eriko sighed in admiration. "Wow. Your outfit is exactly like Sailor Moon's in the first manga. All you need is this" Eriko moved toward Sailor Moon to pin the compact to her bow.

"No," Luna replied. "Sailor Moon won't need the compact. That will stay here with us, Eriko-san."

Eriko raised an eyebrow indicating her suspicion. "Okaaaaay," she said slowly. She turned back to Tsubasa with a big smile on her face. "Well, you'd better get to it. If we're following the series-"

"I know, I know!" Tsubasa laughed. "Use the tiara. And I'll keep an eye out for Jaedite."

Eriko smiled. She opened the door for Sailor Moon. "Good luck!" she cried as Tsubasa walked through the doorway and then jumped 18 feet up in the air towards Franklin Street.

* * *

Ted did not look happy. He was still wondering why he let Dick and Alan talk him into wearing this costume. He raised a furry yellow-gloved hand to his face, trying to wipe the sweat off of his forehead. This Pikachu costume was rather hot. As they had instructed, Ted dragged his feet along the gravel, vainly attempting to build up some static electricity. All he succeeded in doing was overheating his feet and gaining a few blisters.

Suddenly, Ted's thoughts were interrupted by the chaos exploding in front of him. He suddenly found himself moving against the frantic crowd trying desperately to get away. Curious, Ted continued forward with Alan and Lily close behind.

Lily gasped loudly at the scene before them. People were screaming and running out of the way of Daemon Otaku. The monster's long vine-like appendages were plucking people off of the ground. While flailing around midair, the people slowly slumped to unconsciousness as the monster drained them of their energy. Daemon Otaku laughed an evil Naga laugh as she cried out "Dragon slave!" and "DAAAAARLING!"

Momentarily petrified at the scene in front of them, the trio couldn't move. After a few seconds passed, a look of resolution came over Ted's face. Rushing the monster in front of them, Ted took off like a locomotive amidst the daemon's attacks and cries of "Go Speed Racer, GO!" and "GIANT ROBO, SMASH!!"

* * *

After Tsubasa left, Eriko turned to Luna. "Aren't you going to go with her?"

Luna shook her head. "She isn't the real Sailor Moon, so I have no reason to follow."

"What?!" Eriko asked incredulously. "You saw her transform! She looks just like the real thing! Besides, how can you tell?"

Luna rolled her eyes, indicating how much time she was wasting with all these questions. She finally sighed and began. "If she was the real Senshi, the Compact would have attached to her bow automatically. Plus, she would have also had Queen Serenity's wand in her possession."

"Serenity's wand" Eriko mused. "I guess we're skipping a few chapter," she murmured.

"Wait!" Eriko interrupted her own musing with a startling revelation. "If she isn't the REAL Sailor Moon, how will she be able to fight?!"

"As you two stated before, she'll have to use the tiara. She's still in a transformed state, so she'll have some ability."

Eriko hardened her expression once more. "I'm sure she'll be fine," she muttered to herself.

* * *

Tsubasa could sense that something was wrong. She strained to see past the barricade the police had set up. In the distance she could hear screaming. She needed to get to the action. But the policemen

Taking a step back for momentum, Tsubasa jumped 30 feet to the roof of the building across the street. She could vaguely make out some sort of disturbance two blocks down. It was hard to tell what it was. She pulled out her mask and put it on. Suddenly, all the distractions had disappeared, and Tsubasa/Sailor Moon could see the Daemon attacking people.

* * *

Ted was only inches from tackling the monster when he suddenly couldn't move. Looking down at his feet and torso, he saw the vines wrapped tight around him. Daemon Otaku laughed once more, crying out, "Here comes trouble!" Dragging the struggling Ted farther away from her body, the monster responded to herself, "And make it double!"

Still fighting hard, Ted remained standing as Daemon Otaku started to drain his energy. Sparks went flying up down the monster's arms as she tried to curb Ted into submission. Ted roared with anger, fighting to break free of the vines, snapping a few of them. As soon as Ted would break a vine, however, Otaku would wrap 3 more around him.

Within moments, Ted's struggles were losing strength. Lily tried to rush to Ted's aid, but Alan practically pulled her back, yelling, "You can't fight that thing!" Ted had dropped to his knees when

"TIARA MAGIC!"

* * *

Jaedite was pleased. He looked down on his creation. It was serving him well. "My queen would be quite please," he lauded himself out-loud.

"Not if I can't help it," a masculine voice called out from behind him.

Jaedite spun around, surprised, to face the masked man standing behind him. He smirked. "And who may you be? A trick-or-treater?"

The man reached into his breast pocket, but before he could attack, Jaedite jumped into the air and sent a blast of energy at the masked man. The man just narrowly missed the attack, rolling to safety. Once he was on his feet again, he pulled out a red rose from his breast pocket and threw it at Dark General.

The stem of the rose flew through the air, its razor-sharp end aimed for the general. Jaedite caught the rose between two fingers. He sneered, "What? Did you expect me to have an allergic reaction?" He threw another bolt of energy down at the man. Jaedite's eyes grew larger in fury as the man managed to dodge him once again. "Silly human!" he bellowed. "Did you seriously think that you stood a chance against me?!"

Jaedite threw a third attack at the man. Having nowhere else to run, the masked man jumped off of the roof onto the Columbia Street. Jaedite nearly choked on his breath. He was shocked to see the man still alive and moving, apparently uninjured after that long fall. He followed in pursuit.

* * *

Eriko slammed a fist into the wall. "Something isn't right," she muttered.

"Oh really?" Luna asked sarcastically. "What makes you say that?"

"I can tell it feels my dreams"

Luna rolled her eyes. "Well, you HAVE the compact, if you're so worried"

Eriko looked down at the compact still in her hand. "No," she murmured. "We have THE Sailor Moon. She transformed. She HAS to be it."

"What makes you so sure of that," the cat sneered. "We have a Sailor Moon. She'll fight. She'll stop the evil, or she'll die trying."

Slamming her fist into the wall again, this time startling Luna, Eriko exclaimed, "Okay, that does it. MOON PRISM POWER, MAKE UP!"

* * *

Ted fell backwards, suddenly free from his bonds. Alan and Lily rushed to his aid. "At least I finally got the electricity built up," Ted said with a grin before he passed out from exhaustion.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Daemon Otaku screamed in fury and pain. She glared up to where the tiara was returning.

Moments after catching her Moon Tiara, Tsubasa/Sailor Moon jumped down from the building. Landing gracefully on the street, she pointed her finger toward the monster and began, "I am Sailor Moon! The champ-"

"-ion of justice! In the name of the Moon, I will punish you!" Daemon Otaku finished with a flourish of hand movements.

"Wow," Tsubasa muttered under her breath, "I wasn't planning on the hand movements as well.

"Then you know what I'm here to do!" Tsubasa/Sailor Moon called out. She pulled off her tiara once more. She was about to throw it when she was distracted.

"DAEMON OTAKU!!" Jaedite yelled to his minion. "GRAB THAT MAN!!!"

Tsubasa/Sailor Moon stopped to stare at the handsome, black-haired, masked man running towards them. "TUXEDO KAMEN-SAMA!!!" she squealed, deafening Lily and Alan, who were still trying to pull Ted away.

The monster, aggravated by the squealing, let out a scream before hundreds of vines shot out from underneath her body. Trying to protect Lily, Alan stood in front of her and the still unconscious Ted. Within moments, Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Moon, and Alan were all trapped in the monster's grasp. Daemon Otaku, quickly pulling them closer to her body, anticipated her feast. Lily screamed, released her hold of Ted, and started to run after the Alan.

"NO!" Alan yelled. "You've got to get out of here!"

"ONIIIIIIIIIIII-SAMA!" Lily cried, hesitating for a second. Deciding to follow her instincts, she stepped forward to pursue Alan once more.

*ZWING!*

A small object flew passed Lily's face, startling her to a stop. She looked at some debris to the right of her and saw what looked like a white dart sticking out of the frame what remained of a car. She looked to her left and could barely make out a figure in the shadow of what remained of the Gap's entrance. She stopped completely and stared at the shadow, wordlessly daring it to move.

After a second, she ran back to Ted, grabbing his enormous limp arms, and dragged him to the cover behind an overturned car. Lily peaked over the side the ruined car, gazing at the attack in front of her, occasionally glancing at the hidden figure in the shadows.

* * *

Tsubasa couldn't move her arm. She struggled as the monster pulled her closer to it. Fear starting to creep in, she looked desperately at Tuxedo Mask.

He was also struggling, as was Alan. It was almost more than Tsubasa could bear. If only her wrist were free

Tuxedo Mask looked up at the strangely dressed, trapped woman. She had addressed him, he thought. Pain coursed through is body as the monster attacked him with an electric shock.

"So," Jaedite smirked, hovering near the man's head. "You're Tuxedo Mask."

"I don't know what-aaugh!" Tuxedo Mask cried out in pain as another jolt hit him. He was startled to hear a matching scream come from the man to his right and the girl to his left. Tuxedo Mask focused his eyes on her, trying to make the blurring pass. As his vision cleared momentarily, his eyes traveled to her hand. What was she holding? Deciding to gamble on her ability, Tuxedo Mask reached once more into his breast pocket and produced a rose. Before Daemon Otaku could reinforce their bonds, Tuxedo Mask sent the rose flying to the vines around Tsubasa's wrist.

Shocked by her sudden mobility, it took Tsubasa only a millisecond before she sent her tiara flying. It circled around the monster cutting off all the vines, returning once more to Tsubasa's outstretched hand.

Suddenly released, the three fell to the street. Alan fell with a sickening thump onto his head. Tsubasa looked at him in horror. A small pool of blood was growing around his head.

Tears welling in her eyes, Tsubasa hissed angrily, "You'll pay for that." Yanking her Tiara off of her forehead, she hurled the magical Moon Tiara at Jaedite. The General quickly ducked out of the way, but couldn't avoid the rose that Tuxedo Mask had thrown at him. Pinned to the ground by the rose, Jaedite couldn't move as the Tiara made its return trip right through him. After a scream of agony and many sparks shooting off from the General, all that was left where Jaedite had once lain were ashes.

* * *

"MASTER!!!" the daemon screamed.

Eriko watched the scene through her mask. Tsubasa was calmly walking towards the ashes, probably to pick up her tiara, Eriko figured.

With the General gone, Eriko relaxed, loosening her grip around her scepter. Turns out her ominous feeling had been wrong. Turning her gaze to Alan, she realized that he didn't have much time left. If only Sailor Moon had healing ability.

"Look out!" she heard Lily scream. Looking up suddenly, Eriko saw the startled expression on Tsubasa's face as Daemon Otaku's arm, which had metamorphasized into vines, was shooting at her. At the last minute, Tuxedo Mask pushed her out of the way, getting stabbed in the arm by the vines in Tsubasa's place. Still carrying her in his arms, he jumped straight up into the air and onto the roof of a nearby building. He then continued to jump buildings, moving out of sight.

"Now," Eriko breathed to herself, moving from her hiding place.

*     (*     *

Lily gasped. The figure hidden in the shadows had emerged. Out stepped a long-legged, blue-eyed blonde with her hair wrapped into tight odango. "Sailor Moon?" Lily whispered, confused. Hadn't she just seen Sailor Moon carried away? Looking closer at this new Sailor Moon, Lily realized that this one looked different. Her hair seemed more relaxed in the odango; her face looked younger. This Sailor Moon was also wearing a broach over her bow and wielded a Moon Scepter in her hand.

She watched as the new Sailor Moon approached the monster. The monster swung around angrily to face its new opponent. It attacked, only a moment too late. The daemon turned her head up as she watched the Senshi fly over her head and land on the ground behind. Before Daemon Otaku could attack once more, Sailor Moon pointed her scepter at the monster and cried,

"MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!"

The daemon screamed as the white light poured over it. After a few minutes, the creature changed back to its original human form. Collapsing to the ground, the young woman lay unconscious, but human. Part of the scepter's rays traveled past the monster, falling upon Alan. Sailor Moon smiled as she saw him stir, regaining consciousness and strength. Everywhere around her, the monster's victims were slowly regaining consciousness.

Lily stood up from her hiding spot, rushing to Alan. Throwing her arms around him in a tight hug, she kissed him. "Thank God," she smiled. Turning to thank Sailor Moon, Lily was surprised to see no one.

* * *

Tsubasa/Sailor Moon returned to the corner of Franklin and Columbia a bit upset. What was going on with Tuxedo Mask?? He had carried her to safety, but then left. Was it her imagination, but had he muttered something about "silly humans"?

Tsubasa's confusion was complicated when she returned to the intersection to find no monster, a lot of people just waking up, and one unconscious girl in the middle of it all. She rushed to the unconscious girl. "Jaye!" she cried, lifting her up slightly. The brown-haired girl still remained unconscious, although she murmured softly in Tsubasa's arms. Jaye's cracked glasses remained on her nose, however, and a backpack was slung over her shoulder. As Tsubasa tried to move her, the backpack fell open, a short packet of papers falling out of the bag.

Picking up the papers, Tsubasa read the title with a short laugh, "Lemon Pledge?"

Stuffing the story back into Jaye's bag, Tsubasa contemplated what might have happened while she was gone for those few moments. The monster must have escaped back to the Negaverse while she was busy following Tuxedo Mask. Angrily, her fist pounded on the pavement, causing a small crater. She cursed herself for letting the monster get away. She cursed Tuxedo Mask for taking her away from the scene. The only reassurance that Tsubasa had was that the people around her were getting better.

Looking up, she saw a small crowd of surprised victims gathering around her. They seemed to be gawking at her. Comforted by the sound of ambulance sirens in the distance, Tsubasa examined Jaye over one more time to make sure that she was okay.

Tsubasa/Sailor Moon slowly rose to her feet, beaming to the crowd. She gave a Sailor salute to the crowd before she jumped 20 feet up into the air and out of view.
