The Pops Concert
Well, some might think that school on a Saturday sucks, but this "day of the arts" was awesome. Every department represented itself by performing during the day.
I guess I won't even be able to name all of them, but let me try....

Percussion, Band 1,2,3, Big Band, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra 1,2,3, Symphonic Orchestra, Drama, Dance, Photography, Piano, Children's choir, Jr High Choir, Sculpture, Painting, Art, Writing, Harp, Chorale, Women's choir, Music Theatre....

It all started early in the morning. Even though I wasn't supposed to be check-in before 2 pm, I showed up early to see Marie doing her monologue. Really good, by the way!

After that we all went to the tent to see the Big Band playing. The weather was really bad that day, so the ground was one large puddle of mud :-/

Later we also saw the music theatre people. For lunch we went to Kaldi's, a small cafe nearby. While we were there the sirens went on... tornado warning. Oh well. We walked back to school in the rain. We had to change our chlothes anyway ;-)

I became pretty stressed during our waiting time. I was sitting on the floor and people were hitting me with their instrument cases, stepping on my foot, or stealing ny seat. Thanks again! It was pretty messed up.

Nothing was organized anymore, because of the tornado warning. Our concert started an entire hour late and our instruments were sharp like never before. I messed up my favorite part in "Candide," but the rest was actually okay. We premiered "Manhattan" and the composer, Amy Dunker, came just to see us.

Immediately after that, Inka and Lauren had their Chorale concert and directly after that was the final pops conert, which was incredible! The opening was classical. Orchestra played Mars (The Planets) and Clair gave an amazing solo.

The rest was pretty much pop. Memory from Cats, The devil went to georgia, ....
It was just AWESOME!!
