<< John's Poems
A tree once lived in the dark
It grew where no one goes
No man ever saw its bark
And squirrels never ran over its toes
This tree lived a life of solitude
It grew, and grew, and grew
Until reaching a size of great magnitude
And then before it knew
It's leaves fell, for it was the fall
And then the light came that it never saw
And what appeared? But an old woman, fragile as a rose
What she gave the tree no ones knows
But the tree glowed with might,
And the dark room that had no light
Was illuminated with love and its fight
To bring happiness to all who never lived in the bright
