MAYHEM - GRAND DECLARATION OF WAR

The earlier Mayhem suffered from poor sound quality, but that was something the purists liked about it. I was never a fan of Mayhem until I heard Grand Declaration. From Blasphemer's opening guitars I was amazed that Mayhem was able to sound as clean as this. The entire album is extremely well produced, the sound couldn't get any better. Maniac's vocals are somewhere between screams and nightmares. Hellhamer and Necrobutcher's rhythm section is what a demon funeral march should sound like. Diehard Mayhem fans may not like the new musical direction they have taken though. The electronic vibe and the hardcore influences are prevalent on the disc, and their addition has brought Mayhem to new heights. Buy Grand Declaration of War and play it loud. Ignore that pounding at the door. (NECROPOLIS RECORDS) -MB

MEGADETH- THE WORLD NEEDS A HERO

My exceptions for this album is/was LOW!   Now before I go with the review let me tell you the positive of  the album Well let's just say everyone behind Dave is a joke!  The attempt to do a heavier record is evident,  but the magic is gone guys. THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED TWO THINGS ANOTHER WASHED UP MEGADETH ALBUM OR HELL EVEN  A TOUR IN SUPPORT  OF THIS LAME ALBUM!(sanctuary records) -AC
