I Reviews
IMMOLATION - CLOSE TO A WORLD BELOW
Another solid release from a band that has been, if nothing else, consistent. Musically nothing new or brilliant here, but for fans of retro death stylings this one fits the bill. Lyrically they have faltered a bit. The general anti-Christianity theme can run thin after awhile, so its is understandable. Overall a good disc. (METAL BLADE RECORDS) -MB
INTEGRITY - CLOSURE
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, as Closure marks the final release by Integrity. They have been paving the way for the new wave of metal core bands for over ten years now. Their passion and talent has produced albums that are consistently ahead of their time. Vocalist Dwid has been refining their sound for the last few albums. After a return to straightforward hardcore for the Integrity 2000 release, the new album has a much more eclectic sound. From an atmospheric dirge called 'Trial of Adonis', the album shift to a blistering metal song that is reminiscent of black metal legends Venom. By going on to combine dark pseudo-folk songs with punk songs and electronic metal sounds, Closure hits you from all sides. The cover of the Misfits 'Hybrid Moments' is terrific. I am sad to see the final release from one of my favorite bands, but if you have to go out, this is good final opus. (Victory Records www.victoryrecords.com ) www.delamorte.com - MB
