BLINK 182 - TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS AND JACKET
The newest Blink album is what any Blink fan could expect. Catchy, melodic, punk songs about lewd acts and unrequited love. Their sound has progressed from the last album. This one is a bit darker and shows a bit more emotion. 'Anthem Part II' brings up issues of misfit teenagers' and their place in a country that makes all their decision for them. 'Stay Together For the Kids' focuses on family dysfunction. Don't worry, though, there are still plenty of dick jokes too. After seeing Blink perform in Raleigh two nights ago, I can't say enough good things about them. They are goofy skater kids from southern California making exactly the kind of uncompromising music they have made for ten years now. So what if MTV hypes them? They are still a great band who deserves all the money and attention they are getting. They have paid their dues. If teens needs a big band to associate with, wouldn't you rather it be someone like Blink 182 than a manufactured debacle of five GQ guys who can't sing or a talentless pop band?
