Ah... now for the "Frequently Asked Questions"; or, FAQ. This section is the place to answer any miscellanious questions you may have, that are probably lurking around the site somewhere, but you haven't found yet. If you have a question that is not answered on the site, or you have not found the answer to on the site, please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected]. Here are the questions...
What kind of crafts do you sell?
Well, Seraphim makes many crafts. The things I specialize in are jewelry -- necklaces, bracelets, and most especially earrings --
and small bags, for holding money and cards in and such. Plushies are harder to make, so I avoid them, but they can be done.
Any type of drawing, card, or poster is readily available. Clothing is something I can tackle.
Small trinkets like pins/buttons and such can be made. If you want something that I have not listed in my
repertoire, just email me with the details of what you would like made, and I will reply within a few days,
informing you if I'm up to making it. Don't be shy! We're here to serve.
What determines the pricing of items?
Many factors go into how much you pay... First, the cost of materials. Fabrics, wire, earring posts, so on. Also the
amount of time I spend on the product. Everything is hand-made; that means everything is hand-sewn, with an original
pattern and so on. This kind of thing takes time, and it makes me sad to sell my items for a cheap price when I worked for hours and hours.
Also the general appearance: I may have worked hard on a product, but I won't sell it for an expensive price if
it looks like it's worth less. And of course, beyond my control, you must pay for the shipping of the item. That obviously
does not go toward me; if you didn't have to pay it, I wouldn't make you.
Are there any type of discounts available to me?
Unfortunately, I'm not too sure about sales and coupons and discounts yet... I'm just starting. Seraphim
is an amateur business, and needs all the money it can get. Maybe in the future we'll have discounts... keep checking back. But right
now it's not really something we can afford.
I like a certain product, but I want it in different colors. Can you do that?
If you want a pre-existing product with different colors, or a completely original item, go to the
Requests section. The details are all there.
By requesting an item in different colors/fabrics, or a new item, will it cost me more?
It may. For example, it one requested a bag made with a certain type of patterned fabric, that fabric would cost
more than a solid print. Such variables go into the new cost. Original items would probably also cost more, because
a completely new pattern must be made, and experimented with.
Are Seraphim products refundable?
I'm sorry, but all sales are final.
If I see an item I like, and wish to make my own, may I?
Feel free to attempt to make your own projects... but all patterns, items, and so on are copyrighted. I have
made my own designs, and while you may try to make your own versions, you may NOT sell them.
Where do you buy your crafting supplies?
Different places... wherever I go. Joann's is a great craft chain, and sometimes small stuff from Walmart.
A great place to find materials, especially for jewelry, is right around your own house. Bottle caps and soda tabs
can turn into inspiration. Always keep an eye out, at flea markets and yard sales.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I adore, love, and get a lot of ideas from Craftster.org,
a fantastic forum for hip, crafty people. It has sections on any imaginable craft: clothing, jewelry, bags, toys, knitting,
art, anything. I suggest you check it out!
Can I request a tutorial for one of your products?
A tutorial service isn't currently available... maybe someday, although I'm too lazy to do one. Check out Craftster.org for
tutorials, if you want.
How do I become an affiliate of Seraphim?
Simply email me at [email protected],
and tell me your name, give me a link to your website, and give me a description of it. Whether I accept your
request or not, I'll email you within a few days with my decision. All types of affiliates are welcome, except any with
explicit content.
Who designed Seraphim's layout?
I, Carol, designed it... it was very simple; it can also be a service I provide. If you'd like a layout made, email me here:
[email protected], with the details
of what you'd like your layout to look like: colors, images, stuff like that. My layout is just an image made in MS Paint,
with archived fonts from FontGarden.com. It is my own design.
I used iFrames. You can use the iFrames tutorial at Peachie.nu, which is where I got my code.
I also made an Image Map, which allowed my links to be on the words in the image. Any questions about layouts can be emailed to me.
