The great Islamic prophet Muhammad said in the Qur'an that Jesus prophecied about his coming:
And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad; but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. (As-Saff 61:6)
Those who follow the Apostle-Prophet, the unlettered, whom they find written down with them in the Taurat and Injil, (who) enjoins them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful to them the good things and makes unlawful to them impure things, and removes from them their burden and the shackles which were upon them; so (as for) those who believe in him and honor him and help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, these it is that are the successful. (Al-A'raf 7:157)
These plus additional ayat give many Muslims the notion that Muhammad was foretold in the Holy Bible. Some go to great lengths to try and prove that Muhammad and many of the events of Islam were prophecied in the Bible in order to gain converts and confirm the Qur'an.
