That's an excellent question! Without a doubt, this site is a little obsessive, but look at it this way: In life, most of us have had to do things the hard way. Meanwhile, Mr. Ebert has watched (in theory) and written about films. For this grand task, he has earned a great deal of money, become the best known film critic around, earned a star on the Hollywood Boulevard of Fame, and was even awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his work! Granted, film reviews aren't exactly hard news, but don't you find yourself at least a little bit aggravated if, in fact, Ebert has gotten where he has via less than honest methods?
