AnimeFEST!2001 (Aug. 31 - Sept. 3, 2001)
09.02.01 ~ Scott McNeil and Kirby Morrow are English voice actors (VA) of numerous animes, Mr. McNeil being the VA of Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing), Piccolo the first (Dragonball Z), Wolverine (X-Men Evolution), and many more. Kirby Morrow is the VA of Trowa (Gundam Wing), Van Fanel (The Vision of Escaflowne), Goku (Dragonball Z), just to name a few. Since the line for Mr. McNeil was a bit long, we got Mr. Morrow's autograph first ^_^ He is really nice and funny. Mr. Morrow did his Goku voice for us and took pictures with both of us! ::beams happily:: Seeing that Mr. McNeil's line was still long, we decided to look around the hotel and come back to the autograph session later. We were able to visit the Art Show, Theater Room, and Cosplay!
There were many talented artists who displayed thier works in the Art Show. I wish I could draw as well as them ^_^ The Theater Room showed different animes 24 hours a day. We stayed to watch one but we were lost in the first 5 minutes because we didn't see the first episode ::giggles:: The cosplay was really good. The cosplayers who competed/performed had funny skits. One was cosplaying as Goku and he kept shouting out "Ahhh..." for the longest time ^_^:: He said that the characters in Dragonball Z usually takes up to 6 episodes to just power up before they battle, lol. He along with other coplayers got an award and I was happy for them.
The dance took place afterwards and we decided to check it out. It was extremely loud but I guess that's how dances are ^_^;; We only stayed there for about an hour or so because I just couldn't take the noise. I will go deaf if I had stayed another minute! By the time everything was over, we went back to see if Mr. McNeil was still at the autograph session, but to our dismay, he was gone. We were really disappointed until Michelle pointed out that Mr. McNeil was going down the escalator with Mr. Morrow and another friend of theirs. Michelle greally wanted to get his autograph fro her brother and so she grabbed my wrist and ran after them ^_^;; Yes, you can call us insane but that was the highlight of the whole day!
