Oct. 16th              7:00 PM      Special Education in Amherst Central: A Crash Course
Find out everything you've ever wanted to know about how special  education works in our district from the very people who provide the services.  Special Ed teachers from all of the buildings will be on hand to introduce themselves and explain what they do.  Through them you'll learn about the whole range of special education services in our district.   Plus...home made desserts and lots of them!
 

Nov. 19th             7:00 PM      "Developing an IEP"  Presented by Theresa Drum, of Parent Network. 
In addition:  Scott Payne will speak about Recent Changes in Allowable Testing Accomodations on NYS Education Dept. Tests. 
 

Feb. 10th              7:00 PM      Teachers and service providers from Windermere, Smallwood, the Middle School and the High School will be on hand to discuss the process they go through to prepare for pre-IEP conferences with parents. This will be a great opportunity to understand from a teacher’s perspective what elements are involved in arriving at recommendations for a child’s special education services. Please plan to join us; everyone is welcome.
