A light in the darkness
Chapter Seven
Rose wandered around inside her castle, thinking to herself. She was wandering around the 1st floor, when she noticed a door that was hidden in a corner. The door looked old, it was dusty and had some cobwebs on it. Rose, wondering what was inside, opened the door. She glanced around the room quickly to make sure that Sephy wasn't around, then she went through the door. There was a staircase leading her downstairs to the basement. She had neared the bottom of the stairs when she heard voices, demon voices. She peeked around the corner, and saw many demons, some more doors, and Yuffie. Rose walked into the room, and the noise was silenced. All eyes where on her. Then Yuffie said "Could you quite possibly get me out of here?" Yuffie asked politely. Rose looked around at the demons, who were looking at her. She came to realize that not all of them were as frighting. "No, she can not let you out Yuffie. This is the demon's quarters. Here, we are in control. Only Sephiroth himself can order us here." A large ugly demon said. Suddenly, one of the doors opened. Out stepped Hiema, looking smug and surprised. "Why aren't you foul beasts at her?! She was no right to be here, she is intruding!" Hiema roared. None of the demons moved, but one of them said "Sir, she is the master's wife, we can't harm her." Hiema looked in rage at this statement. "You fools! You have no 'master' here! You are all free to do as you wish! No one is standing in your way!" |

It was only after Hiema said this, that Rose actually looked at him. If it was possible for a demon to be beautiful, he was it. Although he had a mouth full of fangs, and a forked tounge, he looked more human like than most of the demons here. Hiema had large black wings that had polished spikes at the tips. His body was a polished black. His eyes were red and black and full of hatered. Dispite all this Rose felt intranced. Whille Hiema was yelling at the demons, she slipped behind him, and ran her hand down one of his wings. All his yelling was silenced. Once agian, all eyes where on her. Hiema turned to her, and took her hand. "Do you like my wings my dear?" He asked in a smoothly polite way. Rose nodded, and Hiema smiled. "You know, I think that I could begin to like this human." He said. He then looked at Rose's face, so calm, yet terrified of what she did not know. He reached forward and ran his fingers through her hair. His eyes seemed to put Rose deeper into the trance. Only when her eyelids fluttered, did he lean forwrard to sink his fangs into her throat. As he drew closer, the demons watched with their eyes wide open. Before he could sink his fangs into Rose's throat, the basement door flung open. There, standing in the doorway was a very angry Sephiroth. He was holding Masamune close to his side and standing in a fighting stance. "Put her down Hiema." He said in a tone of voice that was full of anger. |

It was only after Sephiroth said this, that Rose's head snapped up and she screamed. "Let me go!!!" She yelled. She tryed to punch Hiema in the face, but he was holding her wrists. "I do not believe that I asked you to suduce my wife." Sephiroth said in a bitter tone. "Well Sephiroth, I suppose you think that you've got me all figured out, don't you?" Hiema teased. While he was taunting Sephiroth, another demon slipped into the room. Suddenly Hiema screeched "Kill him!" and the demon leaped out of the shadows. The demon leaped at Sephiroth with it's jaws wide open. Revealing a tongue with the heads of snakes, tons of teeth and fangs jammed together, and two poision glands in the back of the demon's mouth. It also had a large horn on it's head. The demon leaped in front of Sephiroth's face, so that he couldn't see Hiema, and Hiema slipped away taking Rose with him. |

Hiema carried Rose through one of the doors. Inside the room was a table, a throne, and a candle. But what Rose didn't notice, was the skeletons that were chained to the wall. Hiema flung Rose onto the table, and chained her there. "There, now you can't escape, and I can keep an eye on you." Hiema sneered. |

Meanwhile, Sephiroth had his hands full with the demon that was attacking him. It couldn't speak english, and there was a ton of saliva dripping out of it's mouth. Sephiroth flung Masamune into the air and flipped over the charging demon, he caught Masamune and turned quicly enough to jab it through the demon's back leg. It screamed and turned around, demon blood spurting out of it's open wound. Before Sephiroth could avoid the demon, it appeared behind him, and sunk it's fangs into his shoulder! Sephiroth turned his wrist and put Masamune through the demon's stomach. It abrubtly let go of his shoulder and fell down. Sephiroth, thinking that it was over, turned to find Rose. But that was when the demon decided to stand up agian. Sephiroth couldn't turn around in time. The demon charged at Sephiroth, and ran it's horn clear through Sephiroth's stomach. Sephiroth's eyes opened wide, he dropped Masamune, and fell to the ground clutching his stomach. The demon stood back and prepared for another charge. |

"Sephiroth!" Rose screamed. "It's no use dear, he can't hear you. This door is sound proof." Hiema said smugly. "I doubt that he'll even make it here. He's probably dead as I speak." "No!" Rose screamed once agian. Then, Rose noticed something, the ceiling was crumbiling. Then, a little of the ceiling colapsed. "What the?!" Hiema wondered. Mark fell through the opening in the ceiling. "Think that I'd abandoned you?" Mark asked Rose with a smile. Then Mark turned to Hiema. "Ah, I knew it was you. You were always a problem from the beginning." Mark said. |

Sephiroth could see the beginning of his life flashing before him. No, he couldn't die. The demon charged, Sephiroth, full of determination, rolled out of the way and picked up Masamune which lay on the floor. He aimed, and threw Masamune at the demon. Sephiroth closed his eyes. There was silence. Sephiroth opened his eyes and saw that Masamune had went right through the demon's heart. Sephiroth then, fainted. He was losing too much blood to quickly. But wait, he did have Jenova cells in his blood didn't he? Using the little amount of strenght that he had left, he began to change. He changed into his half-human form. The wound began to fade away with the transformation. He could feel his arm changing, the wings sprouting, everything. Once the transformation was complete he looked down at his stomach. The injury that was there before, was now alot smaller. Sephiroth smiled, the slipped into unconsiousness. He fell from his place in the air and landed, in his human form. He had changed back during the fall, and landed in his own blood. |
