I'm done realizing

You dangle a friendship
In front of my eyes
just like a carrot
I wake up and cry
Why can't I get you out of my head?
Awake I am fine
Then I go to bed
Awake I don't care
Asleep you are there
Why won't my subconscious let you be dead?
If you despise me
Stay out of my dreams
