Walk as Jesus Did

 

1 John 2:3-6

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.

The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:

Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.

 

• Before I became Christian, I used to love the world… I used to lie, cheat, steal, mock others, be disrespectful, rebel, use drugs, alcohol, etc.  Although,

 

• Now, however, that I am Christian, I do not love the world anymore.  The reason I do not love worldly things is because God’s Spirit has transformed me.  He has renewed my mind and has changed my behavior drastically.  Hence, he has made me a new creation.  He has made me Christ-like.

 

• This is my challenge for you:  Decide whether or not you are like Jesus Christ.  If you are not like-Christ, then should call yourself Christian?  Think about it.
