Peace Among Believers
1 Thessalonians 5:12-15
12Now we
ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you
in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard
in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And
we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the
weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back
wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
Salute The Builders- greet them kindly
A) Identify Them
1) They work hard, follow God’s will, engage in service for the Lord
2) They lead, protect, care, encourage, pray for you
3) They admonish, lead with God’s authority
B) Respect Them-
1) have faith that you are following God when you are following them
C) Hold Them in the Highest Regard
1) God appointed these leaders to help guide you to Him
Secure The Brother- live at peace with them, let them feel safe
Serve The Broken- try to help them
A) Warn The Idle- undisciplined, irresponsible, disorderly in conduct
B) Encourage The Timid- discouraged, fearful, lacking confidence
C) Be Patient With Everyone- a fruit of the Spirit
D) Help The Weak- those who are lacking spiritually
E) Kindness is the payback for evil
