What Is Your Self-Image?
Your opinion of yourself affects every relationship your in.

Hindrances to healthy relationships:
1) Over sensitive to criticism
2) Hyper critical
3) Shyness
4) Arrogance.  You say, "Everyone loves me... I am so popular"
5) Feelings of inadequacy.  You say, "I'm no good at anything
6) Perfectionism
7) Self Degradation
8) You assume the position as boss
9) You're a loner
10) You're the life of the party.  The clown is usually covering something up

Inadequate Foundations of Self Image:
1) Appearance and Admiration.  You say, "How do I look?"
2) Performance and Accomplishments.  You say, "Am I the best?"
3) Status and Recognition.  You say, "I am so cool!"

A Spiritual Foundation for Self Image:
1) A sense of belonging.  Connect with God... He's our creator
2) A sense of worth.  God will forgive you... God says you're valuable
3) A sense of competencey.  You have to feel right doing things
4) Galatians 6:3-4
5) Philippians 2:3-4
6) I Peter 5:5

This is Your Challenge:
1) Watch your language
2) On what basis do you consider your worth?
3) How would Jesus apply your actions to relationships?
When people say that all members of a specific nationality, religion, race or gender are "cheap," "lazy," "criminal" or "dumb," they are expressing stereotypes. All groups have both cheap and generous individuals. All groups have individuals who make mistakes, fail, and sometimes commit crimes. To label an entire group based on the actions of some is to engage in stereotyping. Even when a stereotype is positive, such as when people in one racial group are thought to be superior athletes, the consequences of stereotyping are negative.  Consequently, never allow a stereotype to determine "who" you are or "how" much you're worth.  For, in the eyes of God, you are extremely valuable.
