What is the Ultimate Reality?

Mrs. Fatima claims to have the ability to reunite soul mates and conjure up other spirits through the means of palm readings, tarot cards, and other spiritual charts.  According to her, she has been able to answer all questions regarding any affairs for over forty years.  She is located in Point Pleasant, NJ, and is a new age psychic.  She believes that the self (the soul; the integrated, central essence of each person) is the ULTIMATE REALITY.  She proposes that the external universe exists not to be manipulated from the outside by a transcendent God but to be manipulated from the inside by the self.

On the other hand, the Christian perspective regards God as being the ULTIMATE REALITY.  For, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).  Christians believe that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.  In other words, He always was and He always will be.  Christians believe that life is meaningless apart from God because He is the substance that fills our voids.  Hence, God is the ULTIMATE REALITY.
