Judging Others
Matthew 7
1
"Do
not judge, or you too will be judged.
2
For
in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you
use, it will be measured to you.
3
"Why
do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention
to the plank in your own eye?
4
How
can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all
the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5
You
hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see
clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
- Before
I became a Christian, and even for a while after I became a Christian, I
used to judge people often. I used
to blame them for everything
that went wrong and blame myself
for nothing. I will assure you,
this is not decent behavior. It is
not good to judge or blame because condemnation is not from God. That is one aspect I love about
Christianity: the fact Jesus never offers condemnation but love.
- My
friends, we, as Christians, should do the same. We should never offer condemnation but
only offer love. Condemnation is
not from Christ but of the Devil.
We, as Christians, should oppose the Devil. Are you willing to oppose
the Devil?
- This
is my challenge for you: take a giant step of faith and trust God. Do not blame other people when things go
wrong for you (this is your problem, not theirs). Figure out why something went wrong for you. Perhaps something has gone wrong because
you were not fully dependant on God.
