| Aoife's speech patterns are a mix based on the accents of Galway and Connemara Counties, Ireland, with some Scots thrown in. Some of the things she says, especially her first words, are in Gaelic. I tried to work in translations as I could. An "amadan" is a 'jerk' or 'a**hole'. I wanted to have someone point out that most of the time, Zelgadis is a bit of a jerk. "Diancecht" is the name of the pagan Gaelic god of healing. Stories tell of his abilities to mix medicine and magic to accomplish anything, most notably when he reattached the severed arm of Nuada King of the Sidhe, years after the battle when Nuada lost it. For additional interesting stories about the pantheon pf Gaelic Gods and Goddesses, check out the fiction Sidhe series by Kenneth C. Flint.
