Vegeta is the most unique character in Dragonball Z. He starts out as a completely evil villian who goes to earth to fight the Z-team. He then goes to Namek to get the Dragonballs and wish himself eternal life. Slowly throughout the Frieza saga he changes to the good side. Later he settles on earth and has a fling with Bulma to give us Trunks. He is then considered part of the Z-team and goes on to help them protect the universe from evil. He is very conceited and stubborn and strives to be as strong as Goku.

Gohan is one of the most frustrating characters in Dragonball Z. He is always very powerful but rarely utilizes his power. It is only when one of his friends or his family is on the brink of death. He definately has the most potential of any character in DBZ but unfortunately his mother's desires for him to be a scholar over shadow his passion to fight. He is the first one to reach Super Sayjin 2 during the Cell Saga. After the Cell Saga he doesn't train much anymore and works on his studies. He is extremely polite and the son of the great Goku. Were it not for studying who knows how far he could have gone.

Trunks is one of the collest characters in Dragonball Z. He appears to us right after the Frieza or technically at the end of the Frieza Saga. He comes from the future to warn Goku of the Androids that will be coming and will destroy everything. He gives Goku heart medicine for a disease that he will die from. Trunks reaches Super Sayjin at an early age and against cell he reaches a level known as Ultra Super Trunks. It is a really cool effect. He is the son of Vegeta and Bulma and is always very strong. He is a very nice guy unlike his father and he looks up to Gohan because in the alternate futre Gohan is his mentor. |

Piccolo is one character that was there from the very beginning. He started out as Goku's enemy in the tournaments when Goku was a boy, but when Radditz came to earth to destroy it, he and Goku teamed up. He started to like Goku when Goku sacrificed his life to kill Radditz. Piccolo then goes on the train Gohan, and from then on he is kind of like Gohan's protector even though Gohan surpasses him fairly easily. If he dies then the Dragonballs disappear so it is important for him to stay alive. In the Android sagas he has a great fight with Dr. Gero, and absolutely tears him up. It is one of the greatest fights by Piccolo. He is very cocky, and loves to fight. He is from the Planet Namek and is a great character.

Krillin was there from the beginning, and I mean the beginning. He was with Goku in Dragonball as a small kid. He is such a great character in DBZ. He rarely gets the heroic role but is always there fighting for his friends and is also a good comic relief. Even though he is a lot older than Gohan, he is about the same size as him until Gohan grows up later in DBZ. He and Gohan become best of friends. He is usually at the Kame House when he isn't off fighting somewhere. In the Garlic Junior saga he has a girlfriend Maron, who is a ditz. He plays a key part in the Garlic Junior saga and also the Frieza saga. He is usually getting beat up but is very tough. He is very kind hearted and if there weren't any Sayjin's he would be the strongest fighter in the earth.

Tien started out as a challenger to Goku in the TB and quickly became a meber of the Z-Team. He originally was the bodygaurd of the Emperor Chaozu and is very powerful for a human. He gave his life against Nappa and since being wished back he is little help against the evil villians that were to come. He is fearless and very loyal with a great heart. He is just one more character to add to the depth of Dragonball Z.

Yamucha came to Dragonball as a Desert Banditt and escalates his way to become a member of the Z-team. He is kind of Bulma's boyfriend until Vegeta takes her half way through DBZ. His is a similar character to Tien in that he always seems to be there but he really doesn't do much in the fighting. In season 4 he becomes kind of a chicken when going to fight. He is the first to almost die against the first set of Androids, and then after that he is to scared to fight bascially. He doens't train hard and is more of a ladies man then a fighter. Yamucha loves his friends but a lot of times he just looks out for himself. |
