Date: 12/8/2004 at 20:21 From: The Daring Hunter Eski Windsong To : Everyone Subj: Crazy squirrel race At Central hall of the Great Oak, 4 little cubs looked at one another nervously, trying to gauge each others speed and wit. Knorrin, Aurtha, Caelor and Raciel feel how adrenelin putting them on edge. Their little heads snapped up as they heard Eski say READY??. All four got onto their feet, hearts beating in their throats, each hoping they would turn out to be the winners. They all flex their muscles, ready to scamper away when Eski exclaims GET SET!!. Knorrin gulps nervously and looks to his side at Caelor thinking I need to beat him. Then like a Gorrilla pound they all hear Eski shout GOOOOO!!!. All of them scamper of to the west, Aurtho is the first, and Knorrin second. Aurtho gets misoriented and returns to the starting line to get her bearings, and goes off again. Moments later Ria announce that all four Cubs have scampered past the halfway point, Raciel as last. Eski patiently twiddles his thumbs, and jumps slightly as three Cubs suddenly scamper into the Central Hall. Caelor is the first to cross the finish, Knorrin is second and Aurtha is third. They cheer on each other's good race when suddenly they notice Raciel is still missing. Raciel scratches her head as she tries to figure out which way to go, she clamps her teeth at herself for looking at the scenery of the Village of ELeusis so much that she lost her way. Wandering around she runs into Ria at the halfway point and smiles, now she knows how to finish the race. She quickly scampers out to the south, and this time not looking around as she is set on finishing, even if she is last. Knorrin scampers back on the the track and suddenly sees Raciel scamper past him, making him spin around in circles. Raciel crosses the finishline under loud cheers and applaud of her fellow racers, Thus ends Eski's Crazy Squirrel Race the Ninth Eleusian Edition with Caelor as winner, Knorrin second place, Aurtha third and Raciel as fourth. I want to thank Ria for standing Halfway, and all the racers for competing and being such good sports. Especially Raciel who inspite of knowing she was last still had the will to finish the race. Penned by my hand on the 10th of Sarapin, in the year 380 AF. |
