Subj: A Cub Competition
In honour of our bicenntenial, I'm going to be running some competitions with word puzzles. These are for those of House Rank 4 and below only (i.e. cubs).
The prizes will be as follows:
1st prize: 5 credits, 50 myrrh, 50 echinacea and 50 sileris.
2nd prize: 2 credits, 25 myrrh, 25 echinacea and 25 sileris.
3rd prize: 1 credit, 10 myrrh, 10 echinacea and 10 sileris.
There will be 5 different puzzles, posted at different times of the day over the next few months.
You need to message me the answer to each puzzle. The first to message will get 5 points, the second 4 points and so on down to the 5th person getting 1 point. I will add up the points at the end of the puzzles to see who wins the prizes.
The first puzzle is a jumble. This means that the answers to 3 clues will be mixed in together like this: TRAOXHEWULM. This would give Rahum, Xel and Tow, the clue being '3 secretaries'. You would 'msg acorna Rahum, Xel, Tow.'.
The jumble is: DSYSERNTLINAULSVAINSDS and the clue is '3 forestal classes'.

Subj: The second puzzle of five
The answer to the first puzzle (DSYSERNTLINAULSVAINSDS) was Sentinels, Druids, Sylvans (in any order).
The next puzzle is as follows:
My first is in Horkval but not in Mhun,
My second is found in Ellie and Siren,
My third is not in Covenant but is in Xoran,
My fourth is in Farret but never in Atavian,
My last may be found in the heart of Sentinels,
My whole is our Teacher, Guide and Friend.

The combined standings from the 1st and 2nd puzzles are as follows:
6 points: Kyvaer
5 points: Relian, Osek, Aerath
4 points: Erthos
2 points: Gordo, Duns
1 point: Reid
(There is still plenty of scope to win a prize even if this is the first puzzle you enter).
The answer to the second puzzle was, of course, our beloved Vixen!
This third puzzle may be slightly trickier - if you have trouble guessing I may post some more clues up.

Subj: Puzzle number four out of five
The combined standings from the first 3 puzzles are as follows:
8 points: Osek
6 points: Kyvaer, Reid, Duns
5 points: Relian, Aerath
4 points: Erthos
2 points: Gordo, Kaden

The answer to the third puzzle was Ellie, our mischievious, friendly elemental cloud. If those of you who are Eleusians look at CHELP ELLIE, the bottom of the scroll shows what you can ask her to do - she is sometimes found floating around our House hall.
The fourth puzzle is as follows. There are several questions below. If you take the first letter of each answer, you should end up with the answer to the entire puzzle.
1. The name of the house scroll used to see what different classes should learn at first.
2. Our thundery friend.
3. The Secretary of the Department of War.
4. A Secretary who is a dragon.
5. The village in which our Hall resides.
6. Something you join to show your devotion to a God.
7. The name of our House.
A clue to the full answer is: Master of flowing waters.
Again, MSG ACORNA *answer*. Even if you read this some time after I post it, you may still be in with a chance, so have a go - and remember that I just want the final answer, not all seven!

Subj: The fifth and final puzzle!
The answer to the fourth puzzle was (Lord) Neraeos, God of the Sea (our Patron).
The current rankings are as follows:
10 points - Aerath
9 points - Duns, Reid
7 points - Kyvaer
6 points - Aroha
5 points - Relian, Erthos
4 points - Agrias
3 points - Gordo
2 points - Kaden
Any of these people can conceivably reach at least 3rd prize!
The fifth puzzle is perhaps easier to understand than the others, but requires knowledge of the scrolls.
I would like to know the names of the following three scrolls:
1. The scroll that shows what abbreviations you may use.
2. The scroll that shows who our Divine Patron is.
3. The scroll that shows you what you should learn from Vixen in the first place.

Subj: The results of the puzzle marathon
First, with 15 points is Aerath, who wins 5 credits, 50 myrrh, 50 echinacea and 50 sileris.
Second, with 13 points, is Duns. He wins 2 credits, 25 myrrh, 25 echinacea and 25 sileris.
Third, with 9 points is Reid, who wins 1 credit, 10 myrrh, 10 echinacea and 10 sileris.
Honourable mentions must go to Aroha, Kyvaer, Agrias, Relian, Erthos, Gordo and Kaden.
I am donating 500 gold to the House on behalf of Osek, who decided to step out of the competition on the grounds that he felt that he was too experienced.
I am also donating 30 credits to the 'Retirement fu..', um Sentinels account, on behalf of Xel, Aztecia and Logistics, who all joined in (I'm sure weren't suffering senile regression really...).
