Together Again

Tansy and Craklyn looked around. Where were they? Wherever they were, it was peaceful and beatiful, even more so than Redwall Abbey! Then they realized something. They were both very old when they left Redwall together, for eternity, but now they were young again! Craklyn asked Tansy, "Is this what lies beyond the gates of Dark Forest?"
"Only for those pure of heart," Tansy answered her friend. Suddenly, they heard somebeast singing, in a sweet voice that filled the air. Craklyn knew the song well. She joined in, her beatiful voice blending in perfect harmony with that already singing. She and Tansy followed the voice, to a peaceful river flowing gently. There, was a lone mousemaid, singing. Tansy and Craklyn reconized her her immediately, their hearts overflowing with joy.
"Piknim," Craklyn whispered. Then the squirrel and her hedgehog friend ran towards the young mouse, shouting, "Piknim! Piknim!"
Piknim turned around, tears in her eyes, yelling "Tansy! Craklyn!" and dashing to her old friends. When they reached each other, they embraced each other tightly, looking as if they would never let go.
Tears pouring down her face, Piknim spoke to her friends. "You're finally here. I was waiting for you all these seasons. I was so lonely! I sang every day, hoping that when you arrived you would hear me and find me, and you did!"
"There, there, Piknim, don't cry, we're here now," Tansy reasurred her.
"Oh Piknim, I don't ever want to lose you again! I won't be able to take it!" Craklyn cried.
" I don't want to lose you guys, either," replied Piknim, "But now we can be together forever, my friends."
Three friends, one reunited with the others after many seasons, walked together, in a bright place of everlasting peace and happiness, where they would never again be apart.
