It may look cold and foggy and it is, but still it is a beautiful place. Located 3 hours north from San Fransico, it is the techno-phobes paradise. No TV, no telephone, no cell phone reception ...ect..ect... The inhabitants are mostly aging hippies or rich yuppies but the atmosphere cannot be contained. Almost truley isolated, it's the perfect vacation spot. I had a wonderful time. My girlfriend Tiffany and I left Wednesday morning to undertake the 5 hour trip (where I got to test out my new GPS tracking unit (Magellon Xtreme) ), and arrived at the beach house we had rented.

I have never rented a condo or house before, but I have to say it is the only way to go. We brought plenty of food, so it all went into the fridge ( no fast food joints anywhere within 2 hrs driving time!) so no messy or expensive restruants. All the beaches have to reached by trail (the only real drawback), because of the costal cliffs. The easiest way to go is to buy a day pass to the state parks and just go beach hopping. It's best to wait until after noon (when the fog burns

off) to start any sight seeing. There are plenty of interesting places to stop and check, Point Arenda (Lighthouse), and plenty of little coastal towns. We ate at The Cliffside, not a great place (RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST!!!) where the service was great and the food was better. -Aside point: First night we told each other we love each other. Definatley recommed going, nice hotels, nice people great beaches!
