Chapter 13

TJ got over being mean to Karlie, well he acted like he did. The girls came by to say they were back from shopping, after 5 hours, and to drop Lauren off back to Andrew who greeted his girlfriend with delight.

You could tell Buffy was not to happy about something but I didn�t want to get in the middle of any fights, but she held in her temper when Tiff touched her arm lightly. When they went Lauren told us that Buffy knew Karlie was pissed bout something but wouldn�t say, for the reason she knew Buffy would go off. We, well Andrew filled Lauren in on what happened so she had an idea of what the deal was.

We didn�t plan on meeting up with the girls that night, but I went out to sit on the veranda when I saw Karlie sitting on the beach, where we had the bonfire the night before, with a little fire and a book in her hand.

-          Hey Ozzie!, I said as I walked to her.

-          Hey!, Karlie said still reading her book.

-          What you reading?, I asked trying to get her to talk.

-          A book.

-          What book?

-          Never mind! You wouldn�t know anyway!, she said sarcastically.

-          Ouch! I deserved that one though., I said sitting down next to her.

-          You�re still mad bout TJ?

-          You could say that!, she said putting a mark on the page.

-          Why?, I asked trying to get the problem out.

-          Why you ask?, she shook her head and put her book down.

-          Ryan, its not the fact that TJ lied to me.

-          Well what�s the fact?

-          The fact that he didn�t want to tell me or he didn�t just say �Karlie we don�t want to talk about it in front of you." or something like that!, she said looking at me with teary eyes.

-          Hey! It�s cool!, I said putting my arm around her.

-          No it�s not!

-          Why isn�t it?

-          TJ just� argh!, she said as if giving up.

-          Listen Karlie� I haven�t known you for long, but I think I know you well enough to say that you care for him.

-          That�s it!, she said shaking her head.

-          The fact TJ didn�t think I cared for Clay to help him with his problem as his friend., she continued.

-          Ah!

-          Yeah that!, Karlie said.

-          Take it in a guys perspective., I started to say.

-          We can�t� spill every feeling we have like that!, I finished by clicking my fingers.

-          Yeah?

-          We just�

-          Don�t have the balls?, Karlie asked.

-          Yeah something like that! Your not really mad at TJ?, I laughed.

-          No! I�ll forgive him, but it just hurt me.

-          Hey do the others know?

-          You mean Dasha, Tiff, Amy, Lee, Paola and Buffy?

-          Yeah!, I said to her.

-          They know something happen with one of the guys just not which one. Why?

-          Oh! Buffy was ready to stand up for you and go off at who ever made you feel like this!

-          I thought she would! I love Buffy with all my heart and she�s like my sister., Karlie smiled.

-          She�s protective of you.

-          She�s protective of all her friends. Which makes her such a great friend!

-          Is she your best friend?

-          One of them. My best friend is in Australia, asleep or at my place on my computer waiting to see if I�ll go online so we can talk.

-          Really?

-          Yeah! I miss her., Karlie laughed.

-          Why don�t you call?

-          I wish! I don�t have the money to call people back home!

-          Well lets have a little help from my boss!, I smiled.
