Chapter 38

The April 15th 2000, loads of people had gather at the Saint-Marie Church. It was one of the church that Buffy mostly volunteer her time.

Her closest friends had a special settings in front. Steve was outside with Buffy�s parent to welcome the guests. Steve had stay very quiet since he got the news about Buffy�s love for him. He didn�t say �Hi!� and �Thanks for coming!�. He only looked the guests in the eyes with sadness and made a little nod with his head as they send him some sympathy.

A lot of guests understood what Steve had been through. Some of the guests though that he was her boyfriend and some knew he was a very close friend of hers. Steve looked down for a second and thinking about what Donna had told him about 2 days ago�

* Flashback 2 Days Ago *

Steve was on his way to Donna�s place to apologize about the way he been acting since they had watch the tape that Buffy had left them.

He had waited for a very long time before someone finally open the door. He saw that Donna was crying and very upset. He saw in what condition she was and gave her a hug.

-          Donna� please baby tell me what�s wrong�, Steve said to her.

-          We need to talk about the whole situation�

-          Donna� if it�s about what I did and say and scream. I mean I�m sorry! I came here to apologize what I had done! You know that I never wanted to hurt you�

-          I know Steve� I know. But it�s all forgot. I don�t wanna talk to you about that� it�s something�s something else�

Steve had a confuse face after Donna said. She lead him towards the bench that was on her front porch. She sat next to him and while she was talking she started to cry at the same time.

Every time when Steve tried to gave her a hug, she pushed him aside telling him that it was too hard for her. He doesn�t understand why until she said what she got in her mind and especially her heart.

* Back To The Present *

Donna had made clearly that she doesn�t want be part of his life anymore and that Steve had feelings for Buffy and didn�t see it yet. She felt it for a very long time and felt bad that she couldn�t keep the promise from Buffy. That night was the last time that Steve ever saw Donna again.

Steve was still upset. Loosing two of the girls he hold dear and care about very much in just a few days short. A while later, he noticed a shadow hidden him, he looked up and who he saw, Steve wasn�t in the mood for fighting at all.

-          Hey Steve� I�m sorry for what happen�

-          That�s okay Justin. I have to say that we�re all sorry here�

-          Listen, I don�t wanna start a fight here and�

-          Me too� Listen why don�t we forget the whole thing and concentrate on who we had lost�

Justin nodded his head and extended his hand towards Steve. He only looked at Justin�s hand and think about it. He also extend his had and they both shook their hands. They had finally put their differences aside and they both know that Buffy would be happy for what they done.

-          I have to admit something� Ever since the 2 years I was with Charisma� I was positive that she wanted to end up with you� I�m sure that a lot of people think that you two should end up together�

-          She was a remarkable and wonderful girl�, Steve told him.

-          I know and I really regret what I done to her� she really doesn�t deserve all that pain inside�, Justin said.

-          I know� I know� But I�m sure she�s thankful that you came here to pay your last respect for her.

-          She really deserved it� I just hope she�ll forgive me�

After what Justin said, Steve didn�t say a word he only gave him a smile. They both shook each other hands once more and later, Justin got inside the church.
