Chapter 3
The Magic Store was a place which was own my Giles, himself. It
was a store which sells magic spells, potions and many related magical things.
Ancient books were included. But it was also a place where the Slayers and
their friends hang out after school, week-ends, for work or for other reasons.
Such as tracking demons or vampires. Searching through an ancient book of
spells, a young woman popped her head up looking at an older man, pacing back
and forth. She frowned wonder what could trouble him. Around her, were other
people looking through books and "objects" as many wonders and questions
lingered in their mind.
"You're okay Giles?", she finally speak up as the man turned his
head towards her. Flashing a smile, he stopped and walked towards her.
"Yes I am. Sorry for being distracted from the work. I only hope I didn't made a mistake by sending Andrew and Greg.", he replied in his British
accent as he cleaned his glass, meaning he was anxious and nervous.
"I'm sure you didn't", she said as she put a hand on his as a sign
of console. "You only want to protect them. I would do the same if I was you."
She smiled back, only sending comfort through the man's heart.
Continued studying on her books, which she spent most of her time
on it than her school work, she heard a sound from a distant. Even for a witch,
she could sense or heard things from afar. Her senses were keen somehow. How
and why she got this amazing gift? It was something she could not answer, for
she didn't know it herself. She stood up quickly, looking making the others
startled by surprise. Lissy's eyes were fixing at the door, sensing a movement
coming towards the door.
Giles looked at her, before she said : "Something or someone
approaches". Immediately, the others were ready to take charges on who or what
is coming through the door. Usually, Lissy doesn't act the way she is, but ever
since her power is growing, it was getting harder and harder to control them. The door knob slowly turned as the others were ready to take
charges.
"You have no idea how- WHOA!", a voice was heard as the front door opened.
"What the hell are you guys doing?", Lee immediately said when she saw her friends almost lunched at her.
"Sorry Lee!" Lissy apologized. "I sense someone was coming and
you know how I cannot control my powers these days."
Giles Rupert was the Watcher of our 3 young Slayers. For an awkward reason, he got kicked out of the council 3
years ago and was no more the Watcher of the girls. When the Slayers heard what
had happen, they took the matter into their own hands and turned their back on
the council and were no longer working for them.
Melissa (Lissy) Davis possessed a big gift. Ever since she was a little young girl, she knew that there was
something different, but special, about her. At the age of 12 years old, she
had the ability to move things, which call telekinesis. As years passed by, her
power began to grew stronger. Her senses began to be keen. She knew she was a
witch, but how strong? She had met the Slayers and the others seven years ago
at school and became inseparable since that day.
After that moment, all were settled down and relax. Basically they
were waiting for Buffy and of course Ryan and Tilky who went out to get her.
Even though it was hard for Lee and Karlie to asked Giles, because he had so
many things in his hands. But they knew it was better to let him know about it.
"Giles?", Karlie asked as she and Lee approached near Giles who
was checking up on something on the counter. "Mind if Lee and I bother you with
something?"
"What is it girls?", he replied without looking up.
"We wondered if you can have a talk with her Giles." Lee answered
back as the others began to be quiet, wanted to listen to the conversation.
"Talk to her about what?" Greg asked from afar, while Karlie
rolled her eyes.
"Anyways," she said as she turned back to Giles who was now
looking at her, "It's about the fact that she's ALWAYS patrolling alone. We
tried to have a conversation about it but she NEVER listen to us and we wonder
is you can get through to her."
"Well I do not know if I also can get through to her, but I shall
do my best." Giles answered at he closed his book and moved away from the
counter and walked towards the table were the others were sitting.
"And if she doesn't?" Bekah asked him, without looking at Giles.
"Then, I think you must her little brother to talk to her about
it. I'm sure he could get through to her."
Silence. Head down, questions lingered in their mind once more.
"Anyways, I don't know about you guys. But all that fighting it's making me
hungry!" Greg smiled. All eyes darted at
him, some frowned, while others had a questioning looks.
"Hey! Don't talk about being hungry around me alright?," Andrew said as he punched him on
the shoulder. "I mean tired to stop eating for like for ever!"
"Andrew! Better stop hitting me," Greg replied as he held up Lees
stake in front of Andrews chest, "or you're going to have this lovely stick
right here."
"Move it or I'll make you my meal!". He replied as he changed into
his vampire face which got Greg changed place with Lissy quickly.
Laughers filled the room, by the sight of Greg's frighten face.
Then, Lissy stopped smiling, like her mood had been turn off with a switch as
her eyes darted at the door once more. All looked at the door once more. She knew the feeling were familiar, but
yet the other one was evil some how.
"Lissy?", Clay answered with a trembling voice. She didn't
answered, but only made a silence sign. Suddenly, a gust of wind flew the front
door wide open, which almost knock Lissy, Bekah and Clay off the ground. As the
others were about to attack, their 3 last comrades came through the doors.
"Oh my god! What happened?"
Giles asked
as he dropped everything which were in his hands to check on her. Tilky and
Ryan were helping Buffy to get in the store. They settled her down on a near by
chair. Buffy left side on her forehead was bleeding, so as her bottom corner
lips. Bruises started to appeared and body ached ran through her body slowly.
She was breathing heavily, trying not to cry. Crying was never an opinion for
her. Bekah ran to the backstore to get a wet cloth to clean the crimson stream from her open wound. It was a huge temptation for their vampires comrades, but
they managed to held on their blood rage.
Bekah Baker use to be ally with Drusilla, before teaming up with Andrew. This 192 years old vamperess had spend
the last 182 years beside Andrew. She also trying to get her soul back, but
mostly wanted to destroy Drusilla whom was responsible for her recent lifestyle
and to get the revenge for the death of her family.
In Jeffery Clayton Goodell (Clay)'s case was a little strange. Ever since he eamed up with Giles
and the others, there was always something wrong when they met Steve and his
comrades. When Ryan got the opportunity to take charge on Clay, he always
stopped dead on his tracks. After it happen a numerous of time, they made a
family history research about Clay and Ryan. At the end they found out that
Ryan was an ancestor of Clay in the mid 1800, but later on he disappeared one
night and never been seen again.
"She was confronting Steve." Ryan finally answered as he sat down
on a near by chair. "What else is new?". Bekah finally arrived with a cloth and
gave it to Ryan who was trying to clean the wound.
"You know that you shouldn't patrol by yourself Buffy!", Clay said
upfront.
"OUCH! Watch it!" Buffy snatched the cloth away from Ryan's hand
and tried to clean it herself. She looked at Clay up and down with a nasty bloody
look. A look which could frigten any living dead. "First: Hey what's up! Im going great! And
second: See if I care!"
"Clay's right Buffy. You know how dangerous it is for you to go out patrolling alone."
Bekah spoke up. "I mean you don't know when Steve and Drusilla are going to
show up! With those two hanging together you aren't going to stand a chance
with them!"
"Why everyone is getting on my case about Steve and Drusilla?",
she yelled as stood up. "It is my business to corner! Not yours! And they're a bunch of
fucking blood sucker and my goal is to end them before they can end any more
lives!"
Lee looked at her, not showing any reaction nor emotions for they were used to
see Buffy reacted the way she was. "That's our goal too Buff and that's why we
must work together as a team! To have more strength and power against them!"
"I know but at the same time we can cover more grounds if I'm out
there alone!" She paused for a brief moment, before she sighed deeply.
"You know what?", Buffy said as she grabbed her coat from the chair
and headed towards the door. "I'm getting out of here!", was her last words
before a huge door slam startled everyone.
Once again, silence ruled the shop. There was a lot of tension
surrounding them, which made them uncomfortable. Each eyes lingered towards the
others, waiting for someone to break the silence. But none was doing it.
"Well," Giles finally spoke as he laid his glasses down the table
and looked at them, "I think we let her cold off, before we could asked what is
going on with her." All were agree with only a nod.
After a few minutes of pondering on what to do, they all agreed
they only idea to settled things with Buffy was to let her cool off. After
cleaning up the store, Giles commented they should go back home to get some
rest. For them, they had school, but only Andrew, Ryan, Tilky and Bekah were the
only ones to stay in the store. Since they didnt have a settled place to stay.
