Character Name: Teki and Mana Furon

Alias: They give their last name so infrequently, most people think their real names _are_ their aliases. However, for a few of their more frequent victims, they are "the Roaches"-- annoying as hell and impossible to get rid of.

Reminds you of: Fred and George Weasley, possibly ^^;; Or Stunt and Bumper of Dominic Deegan, an online comic. Maybe even a bit of Radical Ed...

Gender: Mana is a girl, Teki a boy.

Nature: First and foremost, the twins are devoted to one another. It's a pity, though, that both are reckless nearly to the point of insanity when they're pulling off a practical joke or a robbery. But since their alter offers nothing in the way of offensive or defensive fighting, both are quite wary of physical threats. They've mastered the art of diffusing someone's rage with words-- and, if that fails, they're not so bad at getting away quite quickly and hiding excellently.

When first meeting someone, they generally think nothing's funnier than to overwhelm their poor new friend with hyperactive displays and utter kookiness. But if you were to look past the acrobatics and occasional babytalk, you may find that the pair is almost disarmingly naive and shy underneath it all. Teki tends more towards clowning around to hide his fear of others, while Mana disguises her aggressive protection of her brother as playful rough-housing. Nevertheless, both are fragile underneath everything, clinging to one another not just out of love but also necessity.

Demeanor: It's hard not to view them as one person in two bodies; they share the same irreverent sense of humor, total lack of respect for grave situations, and often finish each others' sentences. Often, people think they're completely crazy, too.

Age: 13

I.Q.: 125 or so, not that they've ever been tested.

Organization: Native Alters

Height: 5'3"

Weight: Mana is 95 lbs, Teki 93 lbs.

Hair: Blonde with vivid green streaks. Both cut their hair in a jagged shoulder-length cut, making it pretty hard to tell the two apart (especially since Mana is also quite flat-chested ^^;; ).

Eyes: Bright, deep green.

Body Type: Both are quite slender and even delicately built. It's obvious that neither would be any good in a fist fight.

Clothing: Both wear a madcap mixture of skirts, shawls, pullovers, coats, overalls, boots, striped socks, and entirely unidentifiable garments-- and the brighter the colors, the better. They swap clothes freely, so don't expect to correctly identify one as Mana just because she was wearing that shirt yesterday.

Race: Alter

Blood Type: O

Date of Birth: May 2

Dominant Hand: Left for Teki, right for Mana.

Weapons: In order to eat, Teki has become an accurate archer, and Mana is downright deadly with throwing daggers or any sort of projectile weapon. Both have good eye-hand coordination, so both could probably do fairly well with a gun, though neither has ever fired one.

Alter: "Switch"-- Teki and Mana can literally switch senses upon mutual agreement; Teki can see what's in front of Mana, hear what's going on, touch what she feels, taste what she's eating, smell what she smells, and vice versa. This alter can _only_ be used with mutual consent-- neither could take control of the other's body by force, and if one was unconscious, the other could not use the alter either. (Mutual consent merely entails a 'feeling'-- both can tell, automatically, how many and which senses the other wants to switch.) On the other hand, the switch is entirely undetectable (unless someone has an alter specifically to sense others' alters in action, I suppose ^^;; ), since both have long since learned how to act naturally while under its influence. The switch takes no effort on their parts, and they could spend the rest of their lives switched for all they know. Also, they have no idea what would happen if one of them was killed while switched-- if Mana was using Teki's eyes and he was killed, for example, maybe she would go blind. But that's only speculation. With this alter, they could probably make fantastic spies, but right now they only use it for fun or theft.

Weaknesses: Both have an obvious weakness for each other, and a well-concealed but quite deep-seated fear of-- well, everyone, basically. They fear natural humans because of the fierce hatred and cruelty they can show towards Alters, and Native Alters because most have powers that involve fearsome weaponry. Also, Mana broke her hip once and never set it correctly, so she has a bit of a limp in her left leg that comes back when she forgets to force herself to walk straight.

History: Born eight years before the giant clash involving HOLY and The Treasoner, Teki and Mana were apparently identified as Native Alters as young children-- likely around five or so. Old enough to know their names, 'mama,' 'papa,' their birthday and not much else, the two were simply turned out of the walled city and left to die in the wilderness. They very nearly did-- there were no miracles for these two. No one took them in, not regular humans who feared Alters, nor Native Alters who needed anything but two more mouths to feed. As a result, Mana and Teki learned two important things: to live by stealing, and to do what practically no other Alter can, make their Alter nearly impossible to spot even while using it. The two would have died for sure if they had ever gotten into a fight-- so they never, _ever_ did. Whatever it took, the two have managed to run or hide from every major threat that ever came looking for them.

Today, Teki refuses all knowledge of his childhood before homelessness, and the early days of struggle, to the point where even his sister believes he has forgotten it. Mana's memories, however, lie closer to the surface.
