Ah, the age old anime -vs- manga debate. Obviously there are differences between ten people drawing something by hand and 100 people filling outlines in with color on animation frames. This section is here to compare them.
Manga:
The general art in the manga is finer, and more delicate, colorful and detailed. You see every hair on their heads, every vein in a leaf, every eyelash and feather and toenail. In Sailormoon however, it's also a bit out of proportion. We all knkow anime people are freakishly skinny too, but Naoko gave the manga people longer necks and feet and fingers. It has a flowy kind of look to it. And colorwise, everything's more vibrant. But even with its beauty, the manga doesn't have the movement and music of anime.
Anime:
The characters in the Sailormoon anime have more natural looks and figures to them. While their legs are just as long and their eyes as big, they just seem more human. And although the anime artwork isn't as ornate as the manga, it moves. And compared to American cartoons, anime kicks ass!!!! There's still an amazing amount of detail in there, and there'd be more if it were possible. They can only go so small. Anime's more about getting the storyline across than making sure you can see the stitching in the hem of somebody's skirt. And besides, anime has those great explosions and background music too! ^_^
